Gaia I took off down the path, trying to remember what I could about the layout of the maze. I wished I had had more time to study it. The wall I had spied was actually a fork; I could turn right or left. Left would take me closer to the Summit, which was equidistant between the two paths at the peak of the mountain. But it would also take me closer to Khason, who I could hear whooping and snarling somewhere in the distance. I darted right and kept running. I continued along trying to take paths that led me up the incline of the mountain, but I met several dead ends. By this point I was snarling in irritation.
