Gaia I woke up, warm, comfortable and in merciful silence. No cold breeze, no rushing water, nothing but a steady, quiet beeping sound. I slowly opened my eyes and found myself looking up at a bright blue sky, with fat, fluffy clouds drifting by. I blinked in confusion and then realized I was looking at a skylight. I turned my head, finding myself lying in a small but cozy bed. An IV was attached to my arm, and I could see another bed identical to mine across the hall in the large room, though my bed was surrounded by paper curtains. I must be in the infirmary.
