CHAPTER NINE Thanksgiving was coming, and every display of turkey-roasting trays, bags of stuffing, and canned pumpkin reminded Grayson of that fact. He’d asked Wyatt if they’d be spending their Thanksgiving with family. There hadn’t been a lot of hope that Wyatt would be free, but Grayson had wanted to ask anyway. “My mom and I will be going over to Jess’s,” Wyatt had told him, obviously apologetic. “But you could come, or rather I could ask Jess if you could come. I’m sure it would be fine.” “It’s all right,” Grayson had said. “It’s family, I wouldn’t want to intrude.” “Are you sure? They’d probably be happy to have you.” “Yeah, not my first Thanksgiving I’ve spent without family.” Which was true, but even when he hadn’t been able to come home he’d spent Thanksgiving with someone,
