CHAPTER 3

William did what?” Jane’s voice thundered in her large room which resembled a 2 bedroom apartment. “Remember when I told you about William’s ex-girlfriend, who was also my high school bully? The girl who broke William’s heart before leaving? She’s William’s pregnant mistress” I sighed in defeat. Jane’s eyes widened in surprise at the new information. Jane has been my best friend since my college days. She comes from a family that was a little more than “well off”. She’s extremely beautiful with her blond hair, long slender legs, and a shape to die for. “I’m going to f*****g kill him, Julie. I don’t care if he’s a rich CEO,” she gritted her teeth. “So what are you going to do?” She asked. I rested my chin on my palm. “He can go to hell. He hasn’t fired me from his company yet, so hopefully, I will be able to use the salary to get an apartment.” William hired me to work as the Associate marketing director at the Sinclair Entertainment Group. That was the only good thing he did for me, at least working kept me busy. “Anyways we need to get this man out of your mind. We are clubbing today and we need to look sexy, get drunk, and f**k a smoking hot stranger,” she smirked. “I don’t know Jane, I don’t feel like doing that now” I shook my head. “We are partying today Julie!” She said, dragging me up to my feet. “Fine” We were dressed in our hottest outfits, heading to a club in LA. The club was for the rich and famous, somehow she had two tickets to get in. We entered the club, greeted by neon lights. Music blasted loudly, and the scent of alcohol, smoke, and musky mixed perfumes hit my nostrils. “You wanna drink or are you gonna be a good girl as always?” She chuckled. I took a shot of tequila in front of me and downed it beckoning at the bartender for another shot. Jane laughed and said, “Now that's my girl”. At this rate, I was going to be a stupid drunk but I don’t care. I just want to get drunk and dance my pain away. I want to forget about William, Amanda, my broken marriage, and everything related to it. With my side eye, I saw Jane holding the hand of a random guy, leading him somewhere. I guess she's very busy. “The usual sir?” I heard the bartender ask. “Yes,” a gruff voice answered by my side, causing me to turn to see who it was. I was welcomed by a pair of blue eyes, with flecks of gold and green that looked emotionless and cold. He had short black hair, a pointy nose, thin lips, and a sharp jawline that my hands itched to touch. His suit jacket was off, showing his sleeve shirt hugging his muscular body with three unbuttoned at the top to reveal his carved abs. He was the personification of a Greek God. “You like what you see?” He asked as his gaze turned to me. He wasn't smiling but his gaze made my heart race and my legs weak. “Y-yes…” I blurted out. No that wasn't what I was supposed to say, giving myself a facepalm j my head. The alcohol had started kicking in already. The bartender brought a glass of alcohol and handed it to him. He nodded and took a sip of it. “If you keep staring then I'll be tempted to find out what’s beneath that dress of yours” His voice was deep, inviting, and suggesting something. “You like what you see?” I repeated what he asked me. Something at the back of my head is nudging me not to do it but I don't care, I'm a single woman now. “I do” he replied without missing a bit, his eyes raked by body giving me chills. “So what are you going to do about it?” I slurred out. He gulped down the last drink in his glass and stood up, then he walked closer to me leaning towards my face. His masculine cologne and proximity made my heart hammer beneath my chest. Damn, who is he? “Follow me to find out” he brought his mouth to my ear and said. Then he turned and began walking out of the bar. I got up from the stool and followed him with a new-found excitement. For the past two years, I haven't felt this kind of excitement since I married William. We arrived at a Red Ferrari and with a button the car opened, “after you”. He gestured. He pressed against me with unyielding determination and I could feel the scorching heat of his ragged breath searing into the skin of my neck. “Please” I whimpered pathetically. His lips descended on mine. The kiss was hot and passionate, his tongue invaded my mouth with predatory hunger that twisted knots into my stomach. An involuntary moan escaped my lips and I felt myself being swallowed by the sensation. I brought my lips to his ears and said in my most seductive voice, “I want you to f**k me senseless with your junior right there”. He growled and replied, “Anything you want to love.” Everything escalated as he rammed inside me with brutal force. This stole the breath from my lungs, leaving me gasping and whimpering beneath him. ~~~~~~~ My head was shaking the next morning when I woke up, it was like a hammer was hitting my head. I gave myself a once-over in Jane’s bathroom mirror. My clothes hid every trace of my wild night with the hot stranger, but underneath it was a disaster. Hickies littered my neck and chest, a disaster I loved. Jane yawned as she walked into the bathroom and started questioning me. “He ruined you! Oh my God! You look like you just went to war!” Jane squealed. I chuckled at Jane’s excitement, the s*x was a good distraction from everything that has happened but now I'm back to reality. I received an email from William’s secretary that stated I was fired from Williams’s company. To say I was disheartened was an understatement. I had an interview with a new firm, and I really hope I get the job. I walked into the spacious office building with my head held high but truthfully inside, i was nervous. I spent the past few days preparing for this interview. This is the only chance for me to rebuild my life and start over after everything that’s happened. I straightened my blazer and smothered my skirt and taking my last glance at my reflection in the glass doors before pushing them open. I saw a young girl seated at the entrance. She was typing furiously on her laptop. She saw me heading towards her and rolled her eyes at me. Wow, I guess she’s nice. “How may I help you?” she asked without sparing me a glance. “Hi, I submitted my documents for the position of the Marketing direct-” “Top floor on the left,” she said, cutting me off. So rude, I simply nodded and headed towards the elevator. Trying my best to not allow her attitude to sour my mood. I walked into the elevator, rested my body on the wall for support, and closed my eyes. I took a deep breath, trying not to let my nerves get the better of me. The elevator stopped with a ding and I managed to open my eyes and stepped out. I got to the top floor following the direction the secretary told me, and there was only one office there. I gathered courage and knocked at the door, I heard a gruff voice that said “Come in.” I pushed the door open and all the air is kicked out of my lungs at once. I was met with a unique pair of blue eyes with flecks of gold. I could never forget who those eyes belonged to. My heart nearly stopped.
