Chapter 1

Andria and Mia Apartment

Andria hit the floor with a loud thud.

Ouch! My butt! She yelled. The bedroom door flew open and Mia stood there with a kitchen spoon in her hand, trying her best not to laugh. You good, she asked, her lips twitching.

Andria groaned from the floor as she rubbed her lower back. This is not funny, Mia. That was all it took. Mia burst into uncontrollable laughter.

Eesh, Andria muttered as she pushed herself up. She rolled her eyes and walked toward the kitchen to drink water, with Mia following behind her, still giggling.

You know that was funny, my dear. But are you okay though, Mia asked with a smile. I am fine, Andria muttered as she placed the glass in the sink. Excuse me, Mia raised a brow. Keep that glass properly. You are a lady. Andria sighed dramatically but picked it up and placed it in the rack. Yes ma'am.

I made egg sauce. We are taking it with tea and bread, Mia announced proudly. Oh I am going to enjoy myself, Andria said as she inhaled deeply. Mia laughed.

Andria smiled and walked to the bathroom to brush her teeth. Just then her phone beeped. She ignored it at first, but when it beeped again, she returned to the room and picked it up with slight irritation, Her smile disappeared.

Mia walked in and stopped when she saw Andria staring at her phone. What is wrong? Did something happen. Andria quickly locked the screen. Nothing. I am just checking my emails, she lied.

Mia looked at her for a second longer but decided to let it go. I am heading to work. It is almost 9am. Guess I will be having breakfast alone again, Andria pouted her lips. That is what happens when you refuse to wake up early. I woke up early.

You woke up because you fell off the bed. Andria could not stop the small smile that formed. See, that smile says I am right, Mia laughed as she grabbed her bag. See ya!

When Mia left, the apartment felt quiet. Andria looked at her phone again, ten thousand dollars. If she missed the deadline, the farm could be seized. She swallowed hard. She could not let Mia know. She did not want to burden her with her problems.

Then it hit her, She had a client meeting by 10am. Oh God! She rushed into the bathroom.

Good morning sir. Anthony replied without looking up from his laptop. Grace Louis stood in front of his desk with a tablet in her hand, calm and professional as always.

Anthony leaned back in his chair. Marriage, he said quietly. A bitter memory crossed his mind and almost made him laugh. He did not believe in it.

What do you suggest Grace, he asked calmly. This deal will expand Ilove Tech internationally, she replied carefully. We cannot afford to lose it. Perhaps a blind date.

Anthony tapped his fingers lightly on the desk. Fine. Grace blinked. Sir? I will leave you to do the arrangement Grace. Serious? I do not joke about business. She nodded slowly. I will make arrangement.

Coles Cafe

Grace walked into the cafe during lunch looking exhausted. Hi pretty lady, Mia waved brightly. You look stressed. Work, Grace sighed as she took her usual seat.

Mia brought her order quickly. You will be fine. What is going on? Grace hesitated before speaking. My boss just secured a million dollar deal.
