Skelly died to a burst of replicated flaming silver coins by the light of a new day. The stairs had emerged in a hidden shaft that led to an old well nearly half a mile from the keep that they’d first snuck into. Battered and beaten, they’d all limped out loaded down with whatever they could collect. While they’d had to leave behind the Kaine coins (“No way I’m risking my neck against the Trogs for coins none of us can carry!” Samuel had insisted), they’d packed the contents of a small bed chamber that had been behind the hidden wall.
