I'm just tired, that's all. Let's go," I say and stand up. We all walk to our cars. All the expensive cars in the street belong to us. I have an Audi R8, Hawk has a Porsche, Mia has a Ferrari, and the twins have matching Lamborghinis, gifts from their brother. The rest of the day goes by fast with Mia next to me... and the rest of the week as well. Wednesday is fun with Violet with us, and Friday is here. Vast, I'm excited for the trip later this afternoon. "Why are you so jittery today?" Violet asks me when we go to the conference room to report our designs for the week. "We're going home tonight and seeing our parents for the weekend, and I'm excited for the trip. "I say with a big smile. "Ah yes, it's your birthday tomorrow. I almost forgot. I sold Tel Mila, so we can go tomorrow and celebrate with you, and our mom will be happy to see us," she says, and Nou is even more pumped. "That will be great, just like old times. All the twins will be there as well," I say, all because Knox's friends, the Knight twins, will be there. Alistair Boris Knight and Barrett Aiden Knight They're the same age as Knox and grew up with us as well. We are a big group of friends. "You're kidding me, really? And the rest—will they be there as well?" she asks, and I'm not sure. "I don't know, actually. We will see tomorrow." "I say as we enter the conference room, and we all go sit down. We all take our turns showing our work. I love all the designs. I like the whimsical feel of it all. We finish up early, and I say, "Bay te violet," "Bay se you tomorrow," and "Then we will be holding a big party at my parents' house, okay?" "I say and hug her. "Bye, I will definitely see you tomorrow," she says, and I see Hawkley walk to her after I start walking out to the elevator. At home I start packing my clothes. Mia told me to not pack a dress for tomorrow because she made me one for it. I'm turning 28 tomorrow, so she said she will be making it herself as my birthday present. I see Knox standing on the sidewalk and Mia sitting in the Ferrari. I bring my suitcase to her, and I place it in the car and greet her, then turn to Knox. "Hey bro, are you up for the ride today? It's quite the distance on a bike," I say. "I'm definitely up for it, but there's a small change in plans," he says, and I know that look—he's guilty of something. "What is it, Knox? It better not be you chickening out," I say, mad. "No, I'm not. It's Hawk; he's coming along for some reason. He thinks I'm driving alone with my bike, and he wants to drive with me home," I say, even madder than ever. "Why didn't you tell him that's not the case, that I'm going with you?" "He didn't give me the chance to," he says. "I can't believe this. Why today? Why this weekend?" "Fine, I'm going to get my bike. I'm now back." "I say and walk away. My sister is probably already at our parents'; she packed last night and went right after work. I walk into the parking garage and see my bike, and I get excited all over. It's a black bike with green detail on it because green is my favorite color ever. I drive out with my black and green Kawasaki Ninja and my matching helmet and stop next to Knox when an all-black bike stops in front of us. He swipes up his visor. "Who's this? I thought we were driving alone today," Hawk asks. "I tried to tell you that." I hit him, and he understood immediately. "Someone is driving with us, but we're just not listening. Now can we go? Mia is already on the road," Knox says, and I spin off. Knox has the same bike as me; his is just blue and silver.
