"You okay, baby girl?" Garland asks, his other arm over Willow. I think he is doing it so he can touch her without looking suspicious. I smile at that. "I'm fine, don't worry, Gar," he says, using his nickname. "Since when do you call Bella 'baby girl'?" Hawk asks, half sounding irritated with him. "Since we're best friends. You won't know since you would never hang out if she is near," he says, and he stands up straight and keeps his arm over my shoulder, but I see the other one goes down Willow's back when I turn back to where Hawk stands. I see he realized that Gar was not after me but my sister. The rest have gone to talk to the other people. I see a couple of people who will fit perfectly together: all the twins, of course, and Liv and Barrett—they're like drooling over each other. Lily and Alistair would make a cute couple, and my cousin Jett, the older one, would make a cute couple with Mila. Arlo and Violet would make the cutest kids ever. There's a pairing for everyone except me and Hawk. I shake my head at the thought of me and Hawkly together. "Willow, do you see all this perfect pairing in these rooms?" I whisper to her. "You bet I do. Now that we're all grown, everyone has a partner except us," she says softly, and I laugh at her. "You can't talk. You and Gar are perfect for each other; it's just me who does not have a partner," I whisper back. She smiles, and I know what's coming. "You and Hawkly would make a power couple. Just think of the cute kids you'll make," she adds, and I'm flushed. I'm about to decline when Hawk sticks his head between us. "A son with blond hair and blue eyes and a daughter with black hair and green eyes," he says, and I jump back, and my sister laughs out loud so that everyone looks at us but goes back to talking. "Why are you everywhere? You're like a ghost; you just pop out when you least expect it," I say, and he laughs this time.
