Rosalie 8 years later
“Today is the day, in five minutes I will be fifteen!” I smiled as I said these words to herself in her head. “ This marks one more year till I'm free!” I said aloud, unaware of anyone who was listening.
“ How dare you!” a sharp tone sliced its way into my thoughts. “ you make it out as if you're trapped here!” a woman snarled as she backhanded rose across her face. I let out a small whimper and my hand went to my cheek and tears rolled down my face. “I'm sorry...I should be happy I have a home,” I said, through my tears.
“ Sorry….Sorry! Is that really all you have to say for yourself?!” The woman sneered and grabbed my hair and pulled me to my feet before sending a solid punch to my ribs. I let out a scream and my hands flew up to the woman's hand that was holding my hair.
The woman threw me into the wall and scowled deeply before relaxing her muscles. “Get dressed Rosalie and you better make that damn bus or you're starving for another week” she hissed as she walked away and slammed my door.
I whimpered and slid down my wall as I wiped my tears. I was already skin and bones. I was so light I would pass out from the harsh heat in the school gym sometimes.
I got up and went to my closet and put on a tank top with a hoodie to hide my fresh bruises and burns.
I got up and looked in the mirror as I did my hair and I bent over and put my shoes on. I grabbed my bag and left the house without a word. I walked to the bus stop and waited for the bus. When it came I got on the bus and sat in the back far away from everyone like normal.
I watched as the bus pulled up to a new stop and I blinked in surprise. I never saw this stop before then again why should i care? I watched six guys get on the bus and blinked. The ones who caught my eye were the middle ones.
The third guy was not buff as the others but he had some type of scar down his neck and then his shirt covered the rest of it, and his dirty blonde hair had tips of an auburn color and his eyes were blue.
While the fourth one had brown hair which I figured was hair dye and his eyes were a soft shade of brown. He had no tattoos or scars but he did have a few muscles and his shirt outlined those well.
But the one who sparked her interest the most was the one with golden eyes. His hair was sandy blonde but it was his tattoos that was attracting her attention, she looked at the one down his arm and saw the ripped wings at the end of a dagger. His body was well mixed with muscles and his outfit seemed to show that all off.
I looked at the three boys who had sparked the curiosity in me and my cheeks flushed but when I saw them looking at me I had looked away and held myself tightly as I looked out the window.
Normally no one would ever sit by me but then I felt a hand touch my shoulder and I jumped and started shaking as I looked up to see the guys finding seats and smiling at me. “ Sorry but I think you have the wrong seat,” I murmured.
“ Now why would you think that?” The one with blue eyes asked as he narrowed them. A small spark enlightened inside them with interest as he and the others listened.
“Because this is where I always sit, and you're new”I said sharply, scared they would hurt me, like she did this morning.
“Oooh, someone's feisty this morning. What's the matter with sunshine? You woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?” the one with soft brown eyes said. “ Don’t call me that” I had murmured softly, maybe a little too soft for anyone to hear me. “Shut up, Mason. Leave her alone. It's probably not everyday hot guys pay attention to her.” said another one of the boys, winking at me.
I bit back a laugh and sighed, gathering all my courage, before saying “ you guys can sit here, but not in my seat.” The one with those starling blue eyes threw himself down right next to me and I flinched. With a smile he said “I’m Luke”
“ no one ever sits back here except f-” I let out a scream as the bus jerked and came to a stop. The jerk sent me forward as I fell on my hands and knees in the aisle between the seats.
“ Are you ok?” They all asked in unison. “Yes I am fine” I had said quickly as I had gotten up and i then started kicking my feet out as i was picked up from my under arms and my heart started pounding and I started saying sorry over and over.
“ Rose, chill out! It's me!” Colt said as he hugged me trying to calm me down. I turned sharply and my chest was rising and falling from my panic attack and soon it subsided. I put my head on Colt’s chest and I gripped his shirt as I was still shaking.
“ What did you fools do to her?!” Colt snapped as his sister raced down the aisle. “ What's wrong with rosalie?” Saint asked, her pupils turning to obvious slits as her anger rose to its peak and Colt grabbed his sister and covered her eyes with his glasses.
“ Your demons.” The one with blue eyes said, sounding amused. “ That's rude of you to say that!” I said but the new guys got quiet and looked at me like i was stupid. Finally the bus pulled into Sunlark high. “ It's true, young lady,” said the guy with sandy blond hair.
I had gotten so lost in his eyes that I turned harshly around and grabbed my bag before Colt could touch my side in a comforting gesture. I pushed by everyone and walked off the bus as I had put my hood up and walked into the school.
“Hey girly!” Sinclaire said with a big smile. “How have you been?” Raina asked as she pushed herself off the lockers. “ Hay feather” May said with a chuckle as I narrowed my eyes at my purple-haired friend.
Hello little one” Azara said and they all surrounded me and I was sucked into a big group hug which made me gasp in pain when one of them hugged me around my ribcage.
I slid down the lockers as I held my side and Saint joined the group in a heartbeat which made the new guys look at me and the group with narrowed eyes but the one with golden eyes seemed worried and he walked over but was stopped by Saint. I did a slight nod and Saint backed up and narrowed her eyes at the boys.
The one with soft golden eyes and sandy hair pushed through the others and grabbed me by my arm and held me close to his chest. “ What are you doing?” I asked as I had tried to push him away but I only ended up making him tighten his hold on me.
I didn’t know why but I felt safe in his embrace. I wanted to run but my body just relaxed into his. I rested my head on his chest and what he said next made my heart pound.
“Mine”
