Chapter 6 Midnight Demands

The key turned inside the lock with a sharp, heavy click. Before the door could swing open, Lucas reacted with incredible speed. He shoved me behind the high leather armchair near the corner of the room, blocking me completely from sight. Luis stood smoothly near the bookshelf, pretending to read a book, while Lucas casually stepped toward the desk. The door opened wide, and my brother Nathan walked inside. His face was red with anger, and he looked around the room with sharp suspicion. He looked at Lucas, then at Luis, but he did not see me hiding behind the chair. "What are you two doing in here?" Nathan demanded, his voice cold. "Just talking about the shipping business, Nathan," Luis said smoothly, closing his book with a soft thud. "You look worried. Is everything okay with that phone call?" "It is nothing you need to worry about," Nathan snapped. He looked around the office one last time before stepping out. "Come to the living room. We need to go over the contract." They left the room, and I waited in the quiet dark for five whole minutes before creeping back to my bedroom. My heart was pounding so hard I could barely breathe, and my skin felt like it was on fire. Late at night, around two in the morning, I could not sleep. My head was spinning with dark thoughts, and my body was restless from everything that had happened. I decided to leave my room quietly and walk down the dark hallway to the kitchen to get a glass of cold water. The house was completely silent. The long hallway was illuminated only by the soft, silvery light of the moon shining through the tall windows. I walked on my tiptoes, making sure my bare feet made no sound against the polished floorboards. As I passed the heavy double doors of the dark library, a large hand suddenly reached out from the shadows. Before I could let out a scream, a strong arm wrapped around my waist, lifting me off my feet, and pulled me backward into the pitch-black room. The heavy wooden door clicked shut softly behind us. I was slammed gently against the back of the door, trapped by a broad, hard chest. "Shh," a low, deep voice rasped in my ear. It was Sandro. His gray eyes shone dangerously in the faint moonlight coming through the library blinds. He was wearing an unbuttoned white shirt, exposing his broad, muscular chest. He leaned down, pressing his hips firmly against mine so I could feel the intense heat radiating from his large frame. "Sandro!" I whispered frantically, my hands resting against his bare chest. "What are you doing? Let me go!" "Do you think you can play dirty games with Lucas and Luis and ignore me, Isabelle?" Sandro whispered in a low, dangerous tone, looking down at my lips. His large hand slid up to grip my jaw, his thumb pressing firmly against my lower lip. "I saw how they looked at you earlier. I smelled their cologne on your dress when you walked past me." "Sandro, please..." I begged, my breath coming out fast and heavy as his thumb slid into my mouth slightly, tasting my tongue. "If Nathan catches us in here together, he will kill us both." "Let him try," he said softly, his touch turning firmer on my jaw. "You are playing with fire, little girl. And I intend to burn right along with you." Before I could argue, Sandro leaned his head down and captured my mouth in a deep, possessive kiss. His kiss was completely different from the others. It was slow, heavy, and full of intense authority. He did not ask for permission. He used his tongue to force my lips apart, taking full control of my mouth. A soft, helpless moan left my throat, vibrating straight into his lips. Sandro groaned low in his chest, a sound that made my whole body go numb with pleasure. He slid his other hand down my back, gripping the silk fabric of my nightgown and pulling it upward. His warm, rough palm pressed directly against the bare skin of my waist, his long fingers squeezing my soft flesh. "You taste so good, Isabelle," Sandro murmured against my lips, moving his mouth down to bite the soft skin under my chin. "You belong in my arms, not theirs." I tried to push his shoulders, but my arms felt weak and helpless. His heat was overwhelming. He lifted me slightly, pinning me between the hard wooden door and his thick body. He moved his mouth down to my neck, sucking on the sensitive skin right above my collarbone until I gasped out his name. "Sandro... please," I panted, tilting my head back to give him better access to my throat. "This is too much..." "It is not enough," Sandro growled softly, sliding his hand higher up my leg, his thumb brushing against my inner thigh. A sharp wave of pure heat shot through my lower body. I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck, burying my fingers in his dark hair as I gave in completely to his touch. He kissed my lips again, deeper and rougher this time, claiming every inch of my breath while his hands explored my bare skin in the dark room. I felt completely trapped, completely dirty, and hopelessly addicted to his dangerous touch. Suddenly, the quiet night was broken by the sound of heavy footsteps walking down the hallway toward the library. TAP. TAP. TAP. The footsteps stopped right outside the door, and someone slowly placed their hand on the metal handle, turning it downward with a loud click.
