Chapter 8 Playing with Fire

934 Words
Nathan pulled the heavy velvet curtain open with a fast jerk. My heart completely stopped in my chest. I closed my eyes, waiting for the loud scream that would ruin everything. But at the exact second the curtain moved, Sandro pushed open the glass balcony door behind us and pulled me out into the cold night air. We stepped back into the shadows of the stone balcony just as Nathan looked behind the curtain. "Empty?" Nathan muttered to himself, looking at the dark corner. He shook his head, pulled the curtain closed, and finally walked out of the library, closing the heavy wooden door behind him. I leaned against the stone railing of the balcony, my chest heaving up and down as I gasped for air. Sandro stood over me in the dark night, his gray eyes glowing with satisfaction. He stepped close, his warm hands gripping my waist one last time, pressing his lips to my ear. "That was close, little girl," Sandro whispered softly. "Go back to your room now." I ran back to my bedroom without saying a word, my hands shaking so much I could barely turn my doorknob. The next morning, the bright sun filled the glass sunroom at the back of the large house. I sat at a white marble table, hoping some peace and quiet would calm my crazy nerves. But my mind was still spinning from everything that had happened in the dark. My lips were still sensitive, and my body felt strange and restless. Footsteps sounded on the tile floor, and Luis walked into the sunroom. He looked handsome in a sharp suit, holding a small cup of dark coffee in his hand. He walked over to my table with a smooth, dangerous smile on his face. "You look very tired, darling," Luis said with a dark smirk, sliding a cup of hot espresso across the marble table toward me. "Did Sandro keep you awake late last night?" My heart jumped into my throat. I picked up the small coffee cup with trembling fingers, trying hard to keep my face completely blank. "I do not know what you are talking about, Luis," I stammered, my cheeks turning bright red despite my best efforts. "I was in my bed sleeping all night." "Lie to Nathan if you want, Isabelle," Luis said, his low voice full of dark amusement as he took a step closer to my chair. "But never lie to me." "I am not lying!" I said, looking up into his dark eyes. Luis set his coffee cup down on the table with a soft clink. He stepped behind my chair, leaning down until his broad chest was pressing against my back. His warm hands came down to rest on my shoulders, his long fingers gently squeezing my soft flesh. I let out a soft gasp as his hot breath brushed against the sensitive skin of my neck. "You are a terrible liar," Luis whispered right into my ear, his lips brushing against my earlobe. "Your skin gets hot, and your breath gets fast every time I come near you." "Luis, stop... someone will walk in," I whispered, but my body betrayed me. I leaned back slightly against his chest, unable to fight the intense heat radiating off his body. "Let them walk in," Luis murmured, sliding his hands down from my shoulders to the front of my chest. His warm palms pressed over my thin dress, his fingers tracing the soft curves of my body. A needy moan escaped my throat before I could stop it. Luis chuckled softly, clearly enjoying the way my body responded to his touch. He moved his mouth down my neck, placing a slow, wet kiss right over my pulse point. His tongue licked my skin gently, making a shiver run straight down my spine. "You like when I touch you like this, do you not?" Luis asked softly, his hand sliding lower to squeeze my waist firmly. "You love the danger of getting caught." "No... I do not," I panted out, my eyes fluttering shut as his mouth moved to the base of my throat, biting my skin softly with his teeth. "Your mouth says no, but your body says yes," Luis whispered, sliding his fingers up the side of my thigh, lifting the fabric of my light dress. His warm, rough palm pressed directly against my bare skin, making my knees go soft even while sitting down. He leaned around to capture my mouth with his in a deep, dirty kiss. His tongue slid inside smoothly, taking control of my breath while his hand pressed firmly against my thigh, teasing my bare skin. I wrapped my fingers around his forearm, holding onto him tight as the overwhelming pleasure took over my mind. I was completely trapped between the table and his hard body, giving in to his possessive touch over and over again. Luis pulled his mouth back slowly, his dark eyes staring down into mine with complete confidence. His thumb rubbed a small circle on my thigh before he slowly pulled his hand back and straightened his suit jacket. "You belong to all three of us now, Isabelle," Luis said smoothly, reaching into his suit pocket. "And you cannot keep secrets from any of us." He reached out and placed a small, shiny object on the white marble table right next to my coffee cup. It was a sleek silver cufflink with the letter G engraved on it. It belonged to Sandro, and Luis had found it sitting on the floor right outside the library door.
