Unknown POV
Sitting at my desk, overlooking the city, I furrowed my brows. The special news report was playing loudly over the tv speakers
“The group of rebels have killed some more of our innocent citizens in Michigan. We still have yet to figure out who or what these assailants identities are. But they are considered dangerous to humankind. Humans have lived in peace with supernatural beings since the Great War, and now the attacks have become more frequent. If you have any information, let your local police know. There is a 6 million cash reward to whoever brings these delinquent murderers to justice. And now Angela with the weather.”
I turned off the tv, frustrated. These rebels. Who are they? They’ve gained quite a following. Some of my pack members were talking about it the last few weeks. About how crazy it was that a small group could take out all these hunters groups.
It made me look weak. I myself haven’t rose up against the humans, mostly because I didn’t want another war. The same war that ended my parents lives too early. These rebels are going to cause just that. And I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to lose any more people, but I also want this tyranny the humans have created to end. They’re doing good, taking out the heartless humans.
“So Alpha, you saw the news.” My Beta Grizz says, walking in, sitting on the couch.
“Yes, what of it?”
“Think we should find these rebels, and turn them over?”
“No.”
“We’ll think about that cash prize. Maybe we could get more land.”
“Or maybe, they’ll take us out as well.”
“None of the humans here hate us. We give them jobs. Maybe they’ll give us more territory.”
“Give us?” I chuckled.
“We need to take back what is ours.”
Grizz shrugged his shoulders. “Maybe.”
“Grizz, put some s**t into perspective. I don’t want to listen to the humans, nor do you. They killed my parents, and yours. Why would I be willing to give up a group of rebels that quite literally took out the biggest hunter group in the north east and all the other ones. We would lose pack members.”
“You’re right.” He bowed his head in submission.
“In all reality, we should maybe meet with them.”
“But how? No one knows who they are.”
“Hey Alec, Grizz,” my gamma Lake walks in now, eating a sub.
He sits on the couch next to Grizz, stuffing his face.
I scrunch my face in irritation.
“How many times have I told you not to eat in my office? You always leave a trail of food in your wake.”
Lake laughed, taking another huge bite.
“I was hungry, and I needed to see you. So why not do both.”
He looks between us.
“What’s wrong with you guys?”
I sighed.
“Talking about those rebels.”
“Oh you mean that cool group of mercenaries that have like 500 followers? Apparently a demon survived the war. And they’re leading them. But that’s just what heard. A demon? Crazy s**t man.” He took another huge bite out his sub, lettuce and tomatoes falling out the other side.
I was in shock. A demon?
“How do you know so much? And I know nothing?”
Lake shrugged. “I went to the club, and one of the dancers was talking about it. I’ve been seeing the news so getting that bit of information I thought would be important.”
“Or you overheard them talking while you’re getting a lap dance.”
“You need to lighten up dude, when was the last time you had any fun?”
Fun?
“It’s been years!” Grizz said, agreeing with Lake.
“You need to go to the club we’ve been going to for years. It’s a lot of fun, lots of unmated shewolves, vampires, faeries.”
“Faeries are a good time, they do this cool thing wher-“
“Okay okay I heard enough.” I growled.
“I don’t feel like going out. Not when there’s other s**t to worry about.”
“Like what? Finishing paperwork that’s not due for another 2 weeks? Get real dude. Besides, maybe that group of rebels will take out everyone, and you won’t have to worry about so much paperwork.”
“Fine, if I agree to go, will you get off my case?” I hissed at Grizz.
“Yeah yeah, but you’re gonna want to go back again I bet.”
“Not a chance. I’ll probably stay for an hour if anything.”
“Sure boss,” Lake laughed, “sure.”

Darians POV
The music was going crazy, sweaty bodies grinding up against one another, Blunts being passed around. I had drank 5 of those fruity drinks and I was starting to feel it. Leta and Danica were enjoying themselves.
I had taken off my veil and was enjoying the night. I didn’t even care if people saw my face. Someone had passed me a blunt now, and I blew smoke rings into the air.
“I feel so alive!” I yelled out.
“*I could watch you for a lifetime, you're my favorite movie
A thousand endings, you mean everything to me
I never know what's coming, forever fascinated
Hope you don't stop running, to me 'cause I'll always be waiting*”
A smell hit my nose. A wonderful smell. It smelled even better then my lavender vanilla soap. But I couldn’t find a word to describe it.
‘Mate.’ Leta whispered in my head.
‘What? No, not now.’
‘Did she just say what I think she just said?’ Danica said excitedly.
‘No no no, this not the time nor the place.’
Suddenly Justina appeared at my side.
“I smell my mate, so does Ally!” She sounded so excited. But I felt horrified.
She frowned at my expression.
“They might join us, you don’t know if they’ll be willing or not.”
My legs suddenly felt like jello. My nerves hitting me like a truck. I was sobering up quick.
‘MATE MATE MATE.’ Leta practically screamed in my head.
“What if they’re apart of that pack?”
“All the more reason to go find them in the crowd.” Ally came up on my other side.
“No this isn’t the time yet.” I steadied my breathing.
I looked around the crowd, feeling eyes on me. It was dark, aside from the colorful lights. And then, I caught his eye. His beautiful golden eyes.
“* Stars spell out your name, like in a science-fiction drama
Romance growing, like a flower in the summer
You always keep me guessing, forever my wonder
Hope you start undressing, all my dreams and take me under*”
I let out a gasp. His eyes locked with mine. I couldn’t stop myself from keeping eye contact with him.
“Mate.” I said softly under my breath.
But the single word that took me out of my trance was the word “POLICE!”
I broke the eye contact before he got any closer, and grabbed Justina and Ally. Maria came running, the rest of them behind her. Everyone of us grabbed hands. Maria started chanting, as supernaturals ran wildly around us. I looked back at the man one more time. He was standing by himself, his eyes still on me. He almost looked sad.
‘He’s dreamy, look at those beautiful eyes, that chocolate curly hair, those muscles! Oh he’s so tall!’ Danica purred.
And poof we were back home.
“Oh Christ!” Claire yelled out, dropping the dish she was washing.
“I thought you all wouldn’t be back till at least 3am.”
“Yeah it was cut short by police.”
“I thought you said humans couldn’t get there.” Frowned Justina.
“I thought so too…” Lilly said, sounding sad.
“Hey it’s whatever, I don’t mind.” I shrugged.
“We found our mates too! But we couldn’t even look for them.” Ally sounded annoyed.
“Well, we need to start investigating anyway.” I sounded grumpy now. I found my mate too. And I had made him sad.
Leta whimpered in my head. Danica didn’t even make a sound.
We had come too far to let a mate bond foil what I had planned. I can not do this right now.

Alec’s POV
The music hurt my ears. God how I hate dubstep. I still don’t know how they convinced me to go. But my wolf Fritz was on edge. He was restless in my mind, as if he were expecting something.
‘Somethings gonna happen.’
‘Oh really? What?’
‘I don’t know, but something.’
We hadn’t even made it inside yet and the pounding base was already giving me a headache.
We walked up to the bouncer. A big burly vampire. I’ve met him before but I couldn’t think of his name.
“Otis my man, how’s it going tonight?” Grizz asked him.
“Just as you’d think, it’s a mad house. Lots of pretty girls. Just let in a group earlier of a bunch of beautiful ladies.”
He opened the door, letting us inside.
“I thought you said this was a supernatural club, Grizz. Not a human one.”
“Our club is below, silly, let’s go.” He led the way to a door and then down a flight of steps. The music was even louder, and I swear, I could smell the sweetest scent. The song that was playing down here, I didn’t quite mind.
“* You are my cinema, I could watch you forever
Action, thriller, I could watch you forever
You are my cinema, a Hollywood treasure
Love you just the way you are
My cinema, my cinema, my cinema
Cinema, cinema, cinema*”
The bass dropped as a girl caught my eye. She was dancing as if no one was watching her. Her back was to me. Her silvery hair hung just above her butt, showing off just how curvy she was. She was wearing almost all black clothes, aside from a white cape that hung on her waist.
She suddenly stopped dancing, and looked wildly around. The smell was even more so on my nostrils, lavendar, vanilla, a hint of cinnamon, and jasmine.
It was intoxicating. She finally turned around and made eye contact.
‘MATE!’ Fritz screamed out.
I took in her face. Her one eye an amber color the other a dark black. I couldn’t even see the whites in her eye. But she was still so beautiful.
I made my way slowly to her, trying not to startle her anymore then I already did. Her two friends were at her side, seemingly talking to her excitedly.
She kept her eyes on me.
Suddenly someone yelled out “POLICE” and all hell broke loose.
Supernaturals running like mad, trying to get out.
“Damn boss, didn’t even get to be here 5 minutes before this s**t happened.” Grizz was at my side, as well as Lake. I looked for her, and saw her with a group of different people and 3 boys, which pissed me off more. They were all holding hands. She looked at me once before they poofed, disappeared.
I felt at a loss. My mate was here. And now she’s gone.
‘Find MATE NOW’! Fritz howled in my head.
