Darians POV
As I sat beside her, my mind churned.
I noticed a marking from one of the wounds on her shoulder. It looked weird. It almost looked like a symbol. I would need to figure that out. Took a quick picture and sent it Georgina. She still hadn’t gotten back to me about the other symbols. Who knows if it’s a dangerous warning of some sort.
‘What do you want to do Danica, Leta?’
‘Kills those stupid wolves. They’re still in the state.’ Danica hissed.
‘I agree.’ Leta growled. Maria machine beeped quietly as I debated with myself. I stared at her as she slept, he chest rising and falling slowly.
‘We won’t kill them. Maria can. For her grandmother, for our grandmother, I want to ask them some questions before hand though.’
I stood up quietly, and walked out of her room.
Declan was standing outside next to my mate, and Lilly.
Lilly looked at me timidly. She knew how I was feeling. I scared her with my antics the second time.
“Wind Howl pack? How many members. How long will it take us to get there?” I asked Alec.
“They have well over 150 members; not including omegas and children.”
I nodded. “So if we catch them before they get back to their pack, how fast do you think they’ll get here?”
“Don’t kill them.” He said matter of factly. But of course he doesn’t know what I’m thinking, i***t.
“Oh don’t be silly. I will allow Maria to have the pleasure of doing that.”
“We can’t kill them, we have to assume their alpha made them do this. And he’ll question why they’re not home yet.”
“Well, we can capture them and honestly, how would I know they’re a Beta couple. And you can call your buddies in other packs to come as soon as possible. Actually as a matter of fact, call them once I’m back with the two of them. Declan? We’re going on a little mission to bring back two unforgivable souls.”
“I’m coming too. I want to help. I don’t like the Wind Howl pack to begin with.” Alec announced.
I rolled my eyes but agreed. “Do you have any Wolfsbane? If you do, bring some with. We need to knock them out.” I told him.
“Of course.” He smiled at me. He walked away quickly.
“Lilly, can you come into Maria’s room for a brief second?”
“Of course.”
She followed me and I showed her Maria’s shoulder.
“See if you can find something in the house that looks like this? See if Mason or Bri left anything behind.” If I remember correctly, they had a few items tied to their legs when we found them, but what was among those things was foreign to me.
“Of course Danic- I mean Darian.”
I looked at her. Though Danica hadn’t fully taken over, parts of her were peaking through.
"I promise I’m not going to go crazy. I’ve talked with Danica, and that can’t happen again, unless they’re asking for it.”
She nodded at me.
We walked out and Declan, Alec and I headed out.

We went to the house first, scenting out the area. They left about 2 hours ago, give or take. We won’t know if they crossed the border or not. Or which way they went. Just from this house.
“I picked up their scent.” Declan said. His nose is better then mine. It looks like Maria put up a fight, as did Claire. Bri and masons blood was scented out as well. They’re still considered a rogue or nomad, since their scents hadn’t changed.
“Lead the way.”
“Looks like their headed due East. Straight shot. At the rate they moved they maybe made it to Arizona or Nevada.”
“Let’s get going then.” I hissed hurriedly. I may not be killing them. But I do want to hurt them. To appease Danica.
“We have to be careful. Moving across state lines is hard.”
“You won’t have to worry about that.” Declan mused.
“I have that part handled.” I laughed.
Alec and I shifted into our wolf forms to keep pace with Declan. Declan carried clothes for us to change into.
Seeing my mates wolf for the first time stirred something inside me. His wolf is magnificent. A beautiful maroon, and white patch of fur on his chest. His wolf was starring at me as well, his eyes wide with wonder.
“If you two are done with you little staring contest, we really should get a move on. Who knows if they’ll be stopping to rest.” Declan’s voice brought me out of my trance.
We both took off after Declan as he moved swiftly. We ran through desert, small forests, hills, mountains.
Hopefully we catch up to them soon.
