Ava sat in her apartment, the skyline glittering outside her window, but she couldn’t focus on the view. Her mind was racing, replaying the shocking revelations about Raj’s sabotage and manipulation. She hadn’t slept since she walked out of the hotel the previous night. She wanted to scream, to cry, to do something—but she felt frozen, trapped in a world of betrayal.
Suddenly, her phone buzzed again, lighting up with messages from Karan. They’d been coming in non-stop since last night.
Please, Ava. I didn’t know. Let’s talk.
We need to fix this.
I’ll leave everything behind if that’s what it takes.
Each message felt like a punch to the gut. She couldn’t think straight. All this time, she had been struggling to build her career and save her marriage, and it had been manipulated from the start. Raj had controlled her future, and Karan—despite his claims—had been a part of it, whether he knew it or not.
A knock at the door startled her. She hesitated, her heart pounding in her chest. She wasn’t expecting anyone.
Slowly, she walked to the door and opened it just a c***k. Sophie stood on the other side, her expression full of concern.
"Ava, you’ve got to stop hiding. We need to figure out what’s next," Sophie said softly, stepping inside without waiting for an invitation.
Ava sighed, slumping into the couch. "I don’t know what to do, Sophie. Everything feels...tainted. My marriage, my career...it’s like none of it is real."
Sophie sat beside her and took her hand. "Listen, I get it. It’s a mess, but you’re not the type to just give up. You’ve fought too hard to let Raj or anyone else take control of your life. You need to fight back."
Ava blinked through the haze of her thoughts. "But how? He’s too powerful. He’s already ruined my show. What’s left for me to fight for?"
Sophie’s eyes gleamed with determination. "Everything. Your career, your independence, your dignity. You’re not alone in this. We can expose Raj, bring his shady deals into the light. There are people who would love to see him fall, and I have contacts who could help."
Ava stared at her friend, hope flickering in the depths of her despair. Sophie was right. She wasn’t powerless. Raj might have orchestrated her life in the shadows, but she wasn’t going to let him get away with it.
"Okay," Ava said finally, a new fire igniting in her chest. "Let’s do this. Let’s expose him."

Meanwhile, Karan sat in his father’s office, tension thick in the air. Raj leaned back in his chair, a smirk playing on his lips as he studied his son.
"Still sulking about last night?" Raj asked, his voice cold. "You should be thanking me, Karan. I saved you from a lifetime of dealing with that woman’s failures."
Karan clenched his fists. “That woman is my wife. And what you did—sabotaging her career—was unforgivable.”
Raj raised an eyebrow. “Unforgivable? I did what was necessary for this family. You were too blinded by your so-called love to see that Ava is a liability. She’s too ambitious for her own good, and you were getting distracted.”
Karan stood, his voice hardening. “I’m not going to let you ruin her life any more than you already have. I’m done being your puppet.”
Raj’s smirk faltered. “You think you can walk away from this, Karan? From me? Everything you have—your position, your wealth—it’s all because of this family. If you go against me, you lose everything.”
Karan glared at his father, his heart pounding. “If losing everything means I get to live on my own terms, then so be it.”
He turned and walked out, leaving Raj sitting in stunned silence. Karan knew there would be consequences, but for the first time in his life, he felt free. He needed to find Ava. He had to make things right before it was too late.

Later that evening, Ava and Sophie sat in a dimly lit bar across from a man in his forties with sharp eyes and a knowing smirk. His name was Vikram, an investigative journalist who had been circling the Mehra family for years, sniffing out their dirty secrets.
"So you want to take down Raj Mehra, huh?" Vikram said, sipping his drink casually. "That’s a tall order. The man’s practically untouchable."
Ava met his gaze, unflinching. "He’s not untouchable if you have proof."
Vikram leaned forward, intrigued. "And you have proof?"
Ava hesitated, then pulled out a USB drive from her purse and slid it across the table. "This has everything. Financial records, hidden deals, contracts he manipulated. I’ve been compiling it for months, but I didn’t know how deep it went until now."
Vikram picked up the drive and studied it, his eyes gleaming with interest. "This could be explosive. If it’s legit, it could bring Raj Mehra to his knees. But I need more than just this. If I’m going to take this public, I need testimony. From you."
Ava swallowed hard. She knew going public would make her a target, but she was beyond the point of caring. She needed to take Raj down.
"Do it," she said, her voice steady. "Whatever it takes, I’m ready."
Vikram grinned. "I like your style. I’ll start digging into this right away. You’ll hear from me soon."

As Ava left the bar with Sophie by her side, she felt a surge of adrenaline. The wheels were in motion, and there was no turning back now. But just as they stepped outside, a black SUV screeched to a halt in front of them. Two men in dark suits jumped out, moving quickly toward them.
Sophie grabbed Ava’s arm. “Run!”
Ava’s heart raced as they bolted down the street, the men giving chase. Her mind raced, trying to figure out who had sent them. Was it Raj? Had he already found out about their plan?
The streets blurred as Ava and Sophie darted through alleyways, narrowly avoiding their pursuers. Just when they thought they’d lost them, Ava felt a hand grab her arm, yanking her back violently. She let out a gasp, but before she could react, a black bag was thrown over her head.
Sophie screamed, but Ava’s world went black.
