I blinked and stepped out of the portal with two Sanctum officials. We were now on Wisconsin Avenue and the house where Nicole wanted me to meet her was just across the street.
I used my enhanced sight to take a look at the house and I sighed. I faced the Sanctum officials with me and I nodded to them that I would go now.
They had to go back to Sanctum headquarters this time. They couldn’t stay around to avoid what happened the last time. If they were caught again, Nicole would put the dots together and know that something was up with me coming to her.
I watched as the Sanctum officials walked back into the portal and it closed up.
I stood by the road and waited for it to be clear before crossing to the other side of the road.
