2. A Beautiful Woman

1127 Words
Sophie woke up in the morning. Her head was still very dizzy when she tried to get up. "s**t, I have a fever," Sophie grumbled, clutching her head. In times of pain like this, it was pain for Sophie. Nobody will care. Nick does care. But he wasn't sincere. Sophie had always been suspicious of her cousin. His gaze really was like that of a playboy who wanted Sophie. "Hey, i***t! Why are you still in the room! Get out!" Nora's voice sounded like thunder. If she doesn't come out soon, then she will hit her. Sophie struggled to stand even though her whole body ached. Not to mention the leg that was injured yesterday. She saw last night's food wrapper. Sophie was so thankful for the wolf-like dog last night. If she hadn't left the burger there, Sophie wouldn't have had the energy to move on with her life. Although she still wondered. How did the animal bring her the burger? Sophie immediately opened the door to her room. Nora's savage face greeted. Sophie looked down. She couldn't bear to see the face. "You forgot today you have to take out the trash? This house is already filled with smells! Don't just ask for food and become a burden! You also have to help in this house. It's called giving back!" Nora snapped. "Okay, Nora," Sophie replied. Nora saw something heavy on Sophie's study table. She immediately entered and found a steak wrap from a restaurant she used to visit. "Where did you get this?" Nora asked. Sophie shook her head. She understood that Nora had misunderstood. "I just…." "You stole?" accused Nora. "No! I am not!" Nora doesn't trust Sophie that easily. She knew full well that Sophie never had money. Nora never gave Sophie money. She didn't care if Sophie had needs at her young age. Mercilessly, Nora dragged Sophie. She was so rough as she grabbed Sophie's arm. "Nora, I didn't steal! I found this food in the yard. I swear!" Sophie tried to explain, but it was useless. Nora continued to drag her roughly. Nick, who was having breakfast, was astonished to see Sophie being dragged away by his mother. He wanted to help the girl, but his father stopped him. "Leave it alone," said Smith. "Your mother wouldn't have done it if Sophie hadn't done anything wrong." "Dad, if people find out, you could get in trouble with the police. I don't want to see you go to jail, and I'll be in trouble," Nick grumbled. Nora led Sophie to the bathroom. She put Sophie into the tub. Pressing her head to sink in the water. "Help!" Sophie couldn't breathe, but Nora gave her no mercy. "You should be thanking me! I've taken care of you and want to steal? Why can't I just die! You're a real burden in my life!" Nora shrieked. Nora is cruel. She is evil, and so is Smith. Sophie was already weak when the doorbell rang. Nora, who was worried that other people would find out what she had done, immediately pulled Sophie's body and left the girl, who was already weak. Sophie almost died when Nick came and saw Sophie's condition. "Oh, my God!" Nick immediately carried the girl's body. "Don't, Nick. Your mother will be mad," Sophie said. "Shut up! You almost died!" "Nick! I won't let you buy a motorbike if you take that girl out!" Nora threatened. Smith immediately pulled Nick out. He quickly closed the bathroom door. Smith let Sophie in the bathroom. "Dad! She could die!" "Just silent!" Smith's orders. Nora was getting ready to open the house door because the guests outside kept ringing the bell. Nora was stunned when the door opened. She saw a gorgeous woman. Her clothes were jet black but really elegant, like the figure of a successful career woman and also intelligent. "Who are you?" Nora asked. The woman smiled. She looked at Nora, but her eyes looked scary. Nora was almost scared. But she convinced herself that this was her territory. "Good morning, Mrs. Walworth. I'm Jane Churchill. I'd like to speak to your niece," the woman said. Nora frowned. She didn't know this woman. She also didn't feel that her niece had such a great female acquaintance as the woman in front of her. "You're wrong. My niece doesn't know you," Nora said. She was afraid that what she had done to Sophie would be exposed. She's going to jail for being mean to Sophie. The woman took something from her bag. A paper like a wedding invitation. But apparently not. Jane opened the paper and read it. "Sophie Walworth, right?" said Jane to confirm. Nora was confused. How did this woman know Sophie? She didn't want Jane to meet Sophie. She can't be found out. "Who's coming, Nora?" asked Smith, who also came out. He was surprised when he saw a beautiful woman in front of his house. Jane smiled when she saw Smith. "You must be Mr. Smith Walworth. I'm Jane Churchill from Wolfburg University. I'd like to meet your niece…." Smith felt strange about the name of the university that Jane said. "What? Wolfburg? Wolf?" asked Smith. Jane smiled again. "It's just a name. The area where the university is located is close to a forest where there are a lot of wolves. But you don't have to worry. Everything will be safe," Jane replied. "Then why did you come here and meet my nephew?" asked Smith. He suspected this woman was a fraud. "May I come in? We can talk over tea," said Jane. Smith immediately let Jane in even though Nora glared at her as if forbidding. But Jane was already in. That woman was too arrogant but also mysterious. "Where's Sophie?" Jane asked as she sat down in the chair. Even though Smith has not let it. "She's not here," Smith replied. "Oh, yeah?" Jane glanced at him suspiciously. But she still smiled. "But I smell Sophie." Nora and Smith try to keep Jane from meeting Sophie. Or everything will be messed up. "I am here!" Sophie suddenly came out in quite a state of concern. The girl walked with a limp. Apparently, Nick was helping Sophie, and the girl heard Jane say her name. Nick fears that Sophie will die. Jane was shocked to see Sophie's terrible condition. She immediately stood up and supported the girl. "Hey, what's wrong with you? Who did this to you?" Jane looks angry. She glared at Nora and Smith. Both were scared. They were afraid that Jane would report them to the police. Smith immediately pulled Sophie so Jane wouldn't touch her. But Sophie dodged. "They did this to me!" Sophie said, pointing at her uncle and aunt.
