When he reached Sergeant Plum he asked, “What was that all about?”
“Your old friend Dr. ben Zinowicz is under arrest in New Orleans.”
“I know that.”
“You do?”
“I was there when they took him away. Are you getting him back? I mean, are they sending him back to California, does Dave Jones have to go after him, or what?”
“We’ll work that out. It won’t be easy, but I don’t think a man like Dr. ben Zinowicz would relish doing time at Angola. He just might prefer to come back to California. Otherwise, it’s up to the DA’s and the State Attorneys. Bart, I have to talk to you. Right away. Where are you now?”
