My heart thundered, my mind spinning.
I wasn't just fated to one Alpha King.
I was fated to both.
The hall fell into a stunned silence.
My breathing turned shallow, my chest tightening as the weight of the revelation pressed down on me. Two mates? That was Impossible, unheard of. A cruel mistake from the moon goddess herself.
Yet, as the power radiating from the man who had just entered wrapped around me, my wolf howled in recognition.
His gaze remained locked on me, unwavering and full of dark amusement.
Alpha Damien.
The name alone sent a chill down my spine.
Everyone in the room had heard of him as well, Alpha Killian brother, the second Alpha King, a warrior feared across every territory. Where Alpha Killian was brutal and merciless, Alpha Damien was calculating and unpredictable, a shadow that could strike before anyone even sensed his presence.
And now, he stood before us, claiming me just as Alpha Killian had.
My father, Alpha Gregory, finally found his voice, his face a mask of confusion and disbelief. “What is the meaning of this?” He demanded, his gaze shifting between Alpha Killian and Alpha Damien. “How can two Alphas be fated to the same mate?”
Alpha Killian’s jaw tightened, his silver eyes burning with something deadly as he turned to his brother. “You're mistaken, Damien,” he said, his voice low and warning. “She is mine.”
Alpha Damien chuckled darkly, unfazed by his brother's possessiveness. “Am I” his golden eyes flicked back to me, his smirk deepening. “Because she feels the bond too. Don't you, little wolf?”
My breath caught . I did
That was the terrifying part.
My wolf responded to both of them, drawn in equal measure , aching for both Alphas in a way that shattered everything I thought I knew about mate bonds.
The murmurs among the pack grew louder warriors exchanged uncertain glances. Even the elders, the most knowledgeable among us, looked shaken.
“This has never happened before,” one of them finally spoke, his aged voice laced with uncertainty. “A werewolf cannot have two fated mates. The moon goddess does not make mistakes…..but this…” his gaze flickered between Selena and the two Alpha kings. “This is an anomaly.”
“What do we do?” Someone whispered.
My father's expression was unreadable as he glanced at me, his daughter.
He could see the distress in my eyes, the way my hands trembled slightly, he was an Alpha, he needed to make a decision, to protect me.
Finally, one of the eldest council members stepped forward, his face graves with concern “there is only one way to resolve this,” he announced. “We must consult a witch”
The room tensed.
Witches were unpredictable, powerful beings who did not meddle in werewolf affairs unless summoned for something truly extraordinary.
But this? This was beyond extraordinary.
“We must seek the guidance of one who can communicate with the moon goddess,” the elder continued. “Only she can determine the truth. Only she can reveal who Selena's rightful mate is.”
My heart pounded as I looked between Alpha Killian and Alpha Damien. Both of them were watching me now, one could intensify , the other with quiet amusement.
One of them was my true mate.
Or perhaps….both were.
Either way, the answer lay with the witch.
And whatever truth she revealed could change everything.
Alpha Gregory exhaled sharply, his jaw clenching as he glanced between me his daughter and the two Alpha Kings. This was beyond anything he had encountered, but as an Alpha he had no choice but to seek the truth.
“Summon the witch,” he commanded, his voice resolute.
One of his warriors immediately turned to leave, but before he could take a step.
A voice echoed from the shadows.
“There is no need. I am already here.”
A shiver ran through the pack as the air thickened with an unnatural chill. The torches flickered. The wind howled. And from the dimly lit corner of the hall, a hooded figure stepped forward.
The witch.
Her presence was unsettling, her long cloak dragging across the floor. As she moved toward me. The scent of herbs, earth, and something ancient clung to me.
The crowd instinctively stepped back, making way for the one who held answer.
My breath hitched as the woman's eyes, a deep, glowing velvet, looked into mine. It felt as though I could see straight into my soul.
Without a word, the witch raised my hands. The air crackled with unseen energy as she traced an invisible pattern in the air. The moment her fingers completed the motion.
A force unlike anything I had ever felt surged through my body.
I gasped, clutching my chest as my back burned with searing heat.
The room watched in horrified awe as Selena's mark, once hidden began to glow again.
Only this time, two distinct symbols emerged.
The room erupted into chaos.
Gasps. Shocked. Whispers. Warriors gripping.
My mother covered her mouth in disbelief. My father's hand clenched into fists.
And standing on opposite sides of me, Alpha Killian and Alpha Damien stared at the mark that bound them both to me.
The witch smiled darkly.
“The moon goddess does not make mistakes.” She intoned, her voice carrying an eerie certainty.
Then, she turned to face the pack, her next words sending chilling wave through the hall.
“Alpha Killian and Alpha Damien are both Selena's fated mate. Their bond is written in destiny itself. And now choices must be made.”
My stomach twisted.
The choice?
I looked at Alpha Killian, his silvery eyes stormy with possessiveness. Then at Alpha Damien, his golden gaze flickering with dark amusement.
They both felt it. They both wanted me.
And now, I would have to decide.
Or worse.
They would decide for me.
