I arrived at the beach gates, bought my parking pass and headed for the far parking lot as described on the websites I'd read. I wondered if the kid at the entrance knew where I was led the way. I was sure he did and I blushed as I thanked him and drove on. I found the car park at the end, surrounded by trees and about half full. When I got through the trees and past the beach grasses on the little boardwalk, I was a little confused. It was a long wide sandy beach looking out over the turquoise water of Lake Erie. The beach was fairly full of loud families. Kids were running around and their parents were all spread out in elaborate encampments for the day. It certainly didn't meet my expectations. I checked my phone again. The websites said to turn right and follow the beach for a kilomete
