The silence in the conference room was suffocating. Cassie’s pulse drummed in her ears as her father paced the length of the room, his jaw tight with frustration. Damon leaned against the table, arms crossed, his face a mask of control. But Cassie knew him well enough to see the storm brewing behind his gaze.
