[ Amara's POV ]
He tried to change the subject immediately after our conversation, and he could hear the pain in my voice. I didn't want him to see me sobbing. I wanted to appear strong and act as if it didn't hurt all that much. I couldn't take it any longer and told him I needed to go home. He wanted to come with me, but I told him I just needed to be alone.
He respected my decision and simply walked me to my front door, saying he wanted to make sure I got home safely or my father would kill him, as a joke.
I waved him good night and went inside. My legs gave up on me before I could even take my shoes off to put them on the shoe rack. I was sobbing uncontrollably just beside the front door. It hurt me so much to hear from his mouth that he doesn't like me. I should've kept my feelings to myself. He was the only guy I liked, then this happened.
After a few episodes of me sobbing incessantly, I picked myself up and walked up to my room. I didn't bother putting on my pyjamas. I was simply exhausted from crying. I'll just fix myself as soon as I get out of bed in the morning.

Amara awoke distraught in the morning. She made her bed and proceeded to the bathroom to take a shower. The entire house was deafeningly quiet. The only thing you could hear was the water running. She changed into her pyjamas immediately after showering. She didn't feel like eating, so she retreated to her bed.
After a few more hours, she awoke. She didn't even have the energy to go get some food for dinner. She drank only two glasses of water before going back to bed.

Dimitri called Liam because she was worried about Amara and hadn't answered any calls all day. Liam told her everything that had happened, but Dimitri was unable to return to the country to support her friend. She asked Liam to bring Amara some food and then give her some space. Dimitri had also asked Liam to write a letter to Amara, ostensibly from Dimitri, so that Amara would have some support from her.
Liam did as he was instructed. He was concerned about Amara as well. He adored her as if she were a member of his family, but he had no romantic feelings for her. He was completely taken aback by Amara's confession. He had no idea she was interested in him. Liam was caught off guard because she didn't show any signs.
He stood there waiting for her to open the door, but she didn't. He ended up bringing the food he brought, back so it wouldn't spoil right there. He did, however, slip the letter under Dimitri's door. He had a spare key from Amara's father but didn't want to intrude on her privacy. He promised himself that whether she liked it or not, he would check on her the next morning to make sure she was safe.

[ Back to Amara's POV ]
The next morning, I resolved to improve myself. If he doesn't like how I look, I'll change for him. I'll look for work to improve my image. I went to take a quick shower before putting on a formal dress and putting my hair up in a formal style. I then grabbed my glasses and proceeded to the kitchen. There was nothing left to eat. I needed to make breakfast, but I didn't have time. I'll just go to a drive-through.
I was about to grab my shoes when I heard Liam knock on my front door. I hurriedly put on my shoes and opened the door just as he was about to open mine with his spare key. He was taken aback when he saw me. I had no idea why. Do I really look that bad?
"You're dressed nicely; where are you going?" Liam asked a question. "To look for work. I'm running late; I'll see you later. Just go inside and feel at home, alright. Bye!" I didn't want to be late, so I left him hanging. Fortunately, I had already prepared a resumè after graduating from college. I know three hospitals that accept walk-in applications, so I need to get there early to be first in line.

"We will contact you again. Thank you very much." I've heard these lines three times now. I'm well aware that they will not accept me because I am a recent graduate. This is the only hospital I'm aware of that accepts walk-in applications. I'll have to make appointments at other hospitals. I suppose the day has come to an end here.
I'm so hungrrryyyy... Due to heavy traffic, I was unable to pass by a drive-through. I have to get going now because I'm starvingggg. If I had known I wouldn't be accepted, I would have cooked breakfast and eaten it at home. Just kidding, atleast I tried. No one knows when I will be accepted. To improve, I need to take risks.
"Please, no," I said, unable to locate my keys anywhere in my body or bag. I don't know how I'm going to get into my car if I don't have the keys. What if they were stolen, along with my car? No, no, no. This is not possible. This is far too much bad luck for a single day. I need to find my keys before anyone else takes them.
As I approached my car to see if I had dropped it on the ground, I noticed that my key was still inside and that it was locked in. I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad that my car was not stolen, but my keys were still inside. How am I going to get in there? Should I just break a window in order to get in? No, no, that's a squandering of funds...
Fortunately, I remembered that I had kept a spare key to my car in my wallet. This day isn't so bad, I suppose. It's time for me to go get some food.
I guess another misfortune is on the way. I've visited five fast food restaurants, and each one has a long line in the drive-thru. I can't take my hunger any longer, so I'll just go down, enter, and buy some food. Another misfortune was that the only available parking space was a few metres away, requiring me to walk a few metres to my destination. What a long day.
I took my massive handbag and made sure I took my car keys and properly locked it, and of course, I put my spare key back into my wallet. Entering a fastfood restaurant in this formal attire makes me feel awkward. I don't want others to think I'm overdressed. But I guess, it is what it is.
I decided to just eat at the restaurant so I wouldn't have to clean up after myself. I threw my trash right after eating, and as I was about to leave, a woman arguing on her phone accidentally threw her iced coffee on my dress. I'm guessing it was deliberate, because the moment I saw her face, I recognised her. Britanny was the name.
"Hello, B*tch!" I was taken aback when she called me that. I never disliked her. We never got into a fight. What has happened to her? Right. Liam.
I was completely speechless and hurt after hearing some more dissing from my ex-bestfriend's mouth. She had told me that she had never wanted to be friends with me to begin with. She only befriended me and Dimitri because she had a crush on Liam when we were younger. She's now upset with me because they've already broken up.
My dress is now soaked with her drink, but luckily I'm wearing a sports short and have an extra shirt with me. I went to the bathroom and changed right away. As I walked out, I reflected on all the bad things that had happened to me this day. It's extremely inconvenient. I began walking toward my car, intending to drive straight home.
An annoying man unexpectedly bumped into me in the middle of the road. I vented my rage on him, and to my surprise, I found myself in front of a massive building, with people staring at me and the man I had collided with. He was dressed in a dark blue suit, and his face was, how shall I put it, frighteningly attractive?
"Be careful where you're going, Mister!!" I yelled. "You were the one who hit me." He said in response.
I explained that I was simply walking straight to my car and that he was the one who had blocked my path. I also told him I had to leave to avoid embarrassment, but he just stared at me and continued to block the way. "Get out of my sight, stupid man!" I yelled at him.
Two men in the back were drawing guns at me, and when I looked back, he was smirking at me. The men in the back did, in fact, pull out their guns, and they turned out to be his men. People began to stare and walk away from us. From where I was standing, I froze. He then raised his middle and pointer finger, and the men with guns returned their weapons to where they came from.
He leaned down to my level and smiled at me before dragging me into the massive structure where we were standing. I tried fighting him, but he was strong, and I didn't want to be shot by his men, so I just gave him small punches before he carried me to his back like I was a bag, and I just accepted my faith. Maybe this is my time. Maybe I had to leave. I didn't get to say my goodbyes to my parents.

He sat me down on a sofa and shut the door. So, what will he do? I know he's attractive, but please, please, please don't. Then he sat down in front of me and laughed. "You're fine; I'm not going to kill you." He then asked where I got the shirt I was wearing, to which I replied. It was from a random guy back when Britanny had also spilled her drink on me and Dimitri.
I inquired as to the reason for his inquiry. "Don't I look familiar to you?" he asked again. I recognised him right away. He was the person who gave me the shirt I'm wearing. It came from him.
He smiled broadly at me and waited for me to speak when he noticed the look of realization on my face. "Thank you for this shirt; I thought I'd never see you again; I'll wash it and return it to you tomorrow,", "No, you can keep it; it's yours now." He said in response.
"Why has everyone in the building bowed down to you, and why are your bodyguards so frightening?" I asked.
He responded calmly, telling me that he is the owner of this building and that his men were frightening because he lives in a dangerous world.
He then asked why I was so upset, and I told him about how bad my day was. He listened to every words I said intently.
"By the way, my name is Amara Greyson, and you are?"..."Adriano Volkov"

[ Liam's POV ]
I haven't gotten a good night's sleep since Amara's confession. It was really bothering me. I had just realised how much I adored her and had been blinded by my obsession with basing on physical appearance. She didn't wear any makeup and never wore a fancy dress, but her, the whole her, is stunning. She is not unattractive. She's lovely, but I was hoping for the Heather girl. When she gets home, I should tell her I love her.
I called my father, told him everything, and then asked for his advice. He told me that I should be the one to solve the problem and that I should just follow my heart.
I'm going to set up a fancy dining on my rooftop to make up for everything that happened there. I'll also go to the mall to get her an 18k gold necklace. I'll also get her daisies since she loves daisies so much ever since we were kids. I sincerely hope she will forgive me and accept me. I had just realised how beautiful she was on the inside and out and how much I adored her.

"What?! Seriously? You're offering me that much money for just a month? How are you so wealthy, and what will my job be?"
Will Liam's apology and confession be accepted by her? Will Amara accept the job offer from Adriano? Why is Adriano so nice to her when he's a terror to everyone else? Why is he offering such a large sum of money? Is he planning something else?
