During dismissal, Leslie was waiting for Alexis to show up at the music room. Ever since the best friends found out about it , it immediately became their usual meeting place. Maybe it is because of Leslie’s love for music that draws them to the place, or maybe because of the peacefulness and mysteriousness of it that they both love. Minutes passed but Alexis was nowhere to be seen. Confused, Leslie made her way down to the classroom to look for her best friend.
“Maybe she forgot,” Leslie thought to herself, “but that would be impossible. Alexis never forgets our after school plans.” After covering all the places that her best friend could’ve gone to and not being able to find her, Leslie called her phone. And to her dismay, there was still no answer. She tried a couple more times, still no answer.
Caleb was just inspecting the school’s camera, when someone bumped into him, almost knocking the camera out of his hands. “Watch it!” Caleb exclaimed, facing the person who bumped into him. “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry.” Leslie guiltily said, picking up her phone on the floor and checking to see if it is still working. After seeing her phone light up and display her and Alexis’ picture, she then looked up, meeting Caleb’s gaze,“I was looking for my friend and wasn’t paying attention to where I was going.” Feeling sorry for his outburst, Caleb replied, scratching his nape and looking down, “Uhh. Its fine, I guess.” Looking at Caleb’s awkward state, Alexis tried to lighten up the mood by starting up a conversation
“Now that you forgive me, are we cool? I haven’t seen you around here before, are you new ?”
“Y-yes” Caleb replied, answering both of her questions and almost slapping himself for stuttering
“Oh! That’s why. Well, I got to go look for my friend. See you around,” Leslie urging Caleb for his name
“Caleb. Y-you?”
“Leslie” She replied smiling and ran towards the school’s exit but not after shouting “Bye Caleb! See ya.”, Causing the boy to smile to himself.
