Chapter 7 That Day Cam walked slowly along the street. She looked at her watch. Yes, she was late for the meeting but she was exhausted from the trip across the river. It had been a long and less than fruitful day and the heat and humidity pressed on her like a weight. The air was still heavy even though the sun was sinking toward the horizon. The afternoon air was oppressive, as the ground radiated the heat from the day. The information she was looking for had not materialized, neither had the person who was supposed to give her that information.
