Chapter 12 Day 21 The trial was swift; it lasted less than a full day. All the top government officials were there. The prosecution seemed prepared to ram it through in as little time as possible. Not a moment’s energy was wasted. President Ortega made an appearance and stayed, very formally, in his chair until the first recess. Then he had a short conference with the government’s prosecution lawyers and turned quickly away. He glanced once at Cam with a sly sneer. Then he was gone.
