Around the same time
“Psst…psst.” Cam awoke at the sounds coming from the window above her. “Cameron!”
Cam sat up quickly. She could hear scraping and sounds of equipment being moved just outside the window of her cell. She had to shield her eyes as cement and plaster started to fall from around the window.
“We’re almost there, Cam. We’ll have you out of there in a minute.”
A rescue party! Cam stood up quickly. Someone had finally found her. She watched as the window was slowly removed from its casing. A man’s head peered into the cell but quickly withdrew.
“Yes, she’s in here.” Cam heard him whisper to whoever was with him.
A woman’s voice answered him “Then let me in there first.”
