Chapter 10 Day Five Maggie waited in the dusty room, which was divided in half by two walls of thick wire mesh set ten inches apart; enough to permit visual contact but far enough apart, that even if fingers could stretch through the mesh, they could not touch others straining through the other side. There were two straight-back wooden chairs in the room, one on each side of the mesh wall. Maggie paced impatiently until she heard the lock of the door in the other half of the room being unbolted. She watched as Cameron, her wrists and ankles shackled, was roughly pushed through the door, and forcefully seated in the hard chair. Then the guard stepped back against the closed door.
