Day 43
Douglas Weintraub stood on the observation deck, waiting for passengers to clear customs. His foot tapped out a stiff, nervous rhythm. He was naturally a patient man and he’d had to be especially steadfast where Maggie was concerned. They’d been together over ten years. Well, Douglas thought, not really together. Maggie refused to accept his marriage proposal although the first time he’d asked was at least five years ago. He still stayed the night every now or then, or she’d stay at his place, but there was something keeping Maggie from making a commitment to him. He didn’t know why he stayed around. Most men would have been gone the first time she refused his proposal but…well, he just stayed. Was he too much in love with her?
