Janet and Adam kept vigil all night rotating the President’s care between them. The excitement made sleep evasive and by morning they were running on adrenalin. President Rood had a rough night experiencing both fever and the cold sweats. Janet changed his sodden bedding.
“I don’t know how much longer in good conscience I can keep the President out of the hospital,” Adam said the morning after the President collapsed. He cradled a steaming cup of black coffee under his nose directing the vapors to clear the cobwebs from his head.
