“He said that? He wanted you to tell me?” the Vice President asked.
“Yes.”
“Can you quote what he said to you as closely as you can remember it?” he asked.
“First I told him I found it hard to believe the First Lady threatened him with the CIA. He said something about it not mattering if I believed him or not as long as Craig and I told you about this if something should happen to him in the next few days.”
“If only we could ask him ourselves,” Grant Anderson mused.
“He was killed last night in a car accident, or what appeared to be a car accident,” Craig said.
“We know. We learned of this just a minute ago,” Paul said.
“Did he tell you why he feared the First Lady?” Grant asked.
“No,” Craig answered, “we surmised it was because he was a threat. He could expose her.”
