“A blood transfusion?” Sean asked. “No,” the President answered avoiding Sean’s eyes. Sean searched his mind for clues; obvious signals that should have given his father away. He could come up with none. “Somehow, I didn’t think you would be quite this shocked.” Sean helplessly shrugged his shoulders. “All of this has had a devastating effect on your mother. She’s had to keep my secret all of these years. I probably don’t have to say this since your mother is your favorite, but don’t be too harsh in your judgment of her.” More confusion for Sean, but he didn’t ask his father to clarify.
