Zander’s POV
This is all just one big misunderstanding. There is no misunderstanding, Sharron. I saw you with my own eyes.
When you and Everett were out on the balcony. We were only talking. So him kissing you on the balcony, and you F…king Everett was just a big misunderstanding.
Wow, I need to learn that kind of language. So what you are saying is my own eyes deceived me, and that wasn’t you, Sharron? For the first time, I was truly left speechless.
Everett, say something. I’m not sure what you actually want me to say. If I answer, knowing he already has evidence, is like us digging our own graves.
EVERETT!!Let’s go, Sharron stomps her foot. Everett!!
Fine! You stay and deal with Blaze on your own then. Fine, she says, pouting. Everett grabs her hand.
Ms.Russell, Mr.St. James, why are you leaving now? Don’t you want to explain this misunderstanding to me?
Or should I just publish what I have with no comment from either of you?
Everett turns around. Mr. Evans, I would advise against doing that. Otherwise, you will be dealing with my lawyers. Blaze laughs.
I will be looking forward to it, Mr. St. James. Considering where the information comes from, I’m not bothered in the slightest.
Everett, you and my ex-fiancé chose to cheat. Now you both can deal with the consequences of your actions.
Everett grabbed Sharron’s hand tighter, pulling her out of the room.
I never realized how petty Sharron was. She was the one who cheated. Now she’s acting like nothing happened.
Lincoln put a tail on both of them, telling them to make sure to keep their distance.
Also, look into Sharron’s family’s business and her finances.
How many contracts do we have with them?
Also, take a look into Everett and his family.
I got a feeling we are going to need it by the way those two are going.
You’ll have it by tomorrow morning. Fine, let’s enjoy the rest of the evening. Zander, why don’t we just go back to the house?
We can make food, play a board game, or watch a movie. What do you think? Lincoln looked at Jade like she was his new best buddy,
while Grace actually seemed relieved. Everyone looked at Zander; he laughed, a woman after my own heart. Movie night it is.
Lincoln, can you have Allie go to the store and pick up popcorn and snacks for us?
Also, order pizza and get some beer. Okay, I’ll be back in a few minutes after I settle everything here.
Everything was set when we got to the house. It was like Allie was reading my mind to what we wanted:
popcorn, candy, hotdogs, pizza, beer, sodas, nachos, blankets, beanbags; it was like a camp out in the backyard with a projector and screen.
I can’t remember the last time we did something like this. We asked Mark and the bodyguards to come join us; even Allie and a few of the maids came out and joined us. We ended up watching Man of Steel, Obsession, and an Adam Sandler movie.
We ate, drank, and told goofy jokes and stories. I haven’t felt this relaxed in years. This was something I was never able to do with Sharron.
Jade and Grace spent time getting to know Allie, Stacy, Amy, and Joy.
It was the first time I saw her actually let her guard down. Like guys, we watched the movies while eating and drinking and telling stupid jokes;
it was like the old days. It was relaxing. Lincoln called Felix and had a few more bodyguards come and watch the gates.
Even Felix showed up with his wife, Kylie. She fit right in with the rest of the girls.
Jade at some point came and laid down next to me. We cuddled while watching Obsession; Jade jumped a few times before I finally heard her snoring softly; it was so cute.
I picked her up and carried her up the stairs to our bedroom. She’s all skin and bones basically.
I’m going to have to fix that. I told the maids they could clean everything up in the morning.
To finish enjoying the rest of the movies. I tucked Jade in and went back down and watched the rest of the movies.
Lincoln and Grace crashed in our guest rooms. Felix and his wife decided to drive home. Everyone else went to their own quarters on the property. I went upstairs and Jade was still sleeping soundly. I honestly can’t remember when I had this much fun.
With no chaos, everyone just enjoyed themselves. No drama, distractions. Or paparazzi. Most of all, no expectations.
I looked at the sleeping beauty on the bed. How was I blessed with someone like her?
I closed the door quietly to the bathroom, taking a fast shower. I slipped on some pajama pants and slipped into bed next to my sleeping beauty. I fell asleep the moment my head hit the pillow.
I woke up to the bed being cold next to me. For the first time in years, I had slept in. Jade was already gone.
I slipped my robe and slippers on and walked down the stairs to find my wife in the kitchen cooking and singing with Grace.
I stood there for a few minutes till Lincoln came down the stairs. He stopped dead in his tracks.
He was about to say something when Grace so graciously said, “You both can stop staring now and come sit down for breakfast.”
I laughed. The look on Lincoln’s face was priceless. His face turned a deep red. His mouth hung open, like he was about to say something but decided against it.
I patted him on the back. “Come on, man. Let’s go have breakfast.”
I can’t remember the last time I had an actual home-cooked breakfast. I usually get breakfast at the hotel. Or I have it delivered to the office.
Lincoln moves closer. Jarvis is going to love her.
I smile. Well, I know he really disliked Sharron. I chuckled. You mean more like hated. Lincoln chuckled. Jade is the complete opposite.
What are you two whispering about? It’s nothing important. Let’s just all enjoy breakfast.
Jade raised an eyebrow at me, and I shrugged my shoulders. She half-smiled and began setting plates in front of us.
There was bacon, sausage, ham, hash browns, eggs, fruit, and oatmeal. Since we didn’t know what you liked, we cooked a little bit of everything.
I have to say it was the best breakfast I have had in a long time. It was cooked with love.
Zander, how did you meet Lincoln? You both don’t act like the normal boss-employee. Lincoln chuckles, “You’re very observant, Grace.”
He’s not my boss, and I’m not his. We’re equal partners, which is why he has Felix. Where I’m the face of Walker Corporation. Lincoln is behind the scenes. We run smoothly because of him.
But when it comes to contracts and dealing with deadlines or other companies, then you can find no one better than Zander. I knew it!!
Lincoln laughs, “ I figured you would figure it out. How did you two meet? Well, that is a long story. I think we got time since you’re the bosses. I’m sure Felix can handle it.”
Now I understand why the security business says Mann Enterprise instead of Walker. Well, you’re one of the few that has ever caught on. Most people don’t look into Lincoln; they just assume he’s my subordinate. And we don’t bother to correct them.
