Zander’s Revenge What’s going on in here? Finally, you’re here. Can you tell these men I’m your fiancé? I’m sorry, I can’t do that, but Zander, I’m already married. You don’t mean that… it’s a joke, right? No, you’re lying. Sharron. If I were you, I would watch that mouth of yours before it gets you in trouble. Why, what could you possibly do to me? Sharron, I’m not the one who chose to cheat. You did. Go back to Everett. I never cheated on you. Oh, really, so what’s this? Turning the computer around and hitting play. You made your choice, Sharron, and so did I. You mean by marrying Everett’s reject. Sure, if you say so, because that would make you my reject, correct? Zander, you don’t mean this. Ms. Russell, I am tired of your accusations. If you would please leave my husband alone, you made your choice to sleep with Mr. Saint James. Now you want what was once yours. Well, he no longer is yours. So please leave, and if you don’t want to leave on your own, well, I will have these gentlemen escort you out. Like you have the power to do that. Oh, but she does, said both the guards. Gentlemen, please make sure Ms. Russell finds her way out of this building. Yes, Mrs. Walker, right away. Oh, and by the way, Ms. Russell. I hope you have a nice chat with Blaze on your way down. We aim to serve here at Walker Enterprises. You wouldn’t, Zander! Why wouldn’t I? I thought you loved the press? I know how much you love the front page. Well, here’s your chance to get that front-page interview that you’re always dying to have. Zander!!! Gentlemen, get her out of my office now. Sharron starts yelling at the guards as they pull her out of the office. Blaze is taking photos, trying to get a comment from Sharron. Jades POV I have to say that was fun. Everyone started laughing. Well, this is only the beginning. We had breakfast, while Zander and Lincoln went through some documents after we all went shopping. They had everything sent to the house. I was expecting to have to set it all up, but when we got back, the house was all done. Zander gives me a smile. They’ve set everything up; you just need to decide how you want it. I’ll set up my office while you tell everyone where you want everything. This is your home, so set it up the way you want. You mean this is our home, chuckling. Yes, you’re right, it’s our home, but you have that woman’s touch I don’t have. Oh, okay! I see where you’re going with this now, Jade says laughing. Zander laughs. Okay, you caught me. I do have a few meetings and a few calls I need to make. The staff would be more than happy to help you. Okay, I laughed, go do your meetings. I spent the day with the maids fixing things. He was right, they loved doing things like this. They gave me great advice on some of the things I wasn’t quite sure what to do. With the maids’ help, we made a simple lunch for us. A steak salad. The maids told me he actually eats really simple things. Nothing fancy, unless he’s taking out a business partner. Which he doesn’t do often. He loathes doing things like that. He believes if they want to work with him, great, Mr. Walker says, He’s not here to buy them. If he has to do that, then they might as well go somewhere else. I admire that. Usually, it’s who you woo to get the contract. I don’t think he needs to do that though. After we finished making lunch, I took his to his office. I could hear him on the phone. I knocked lightly and pushed the door open. He waved for me to come in. I sat the food down, turning around to leave. He caught my hand and told me to wait a minute. Fine, just make it happen, is all he said hanging up the phone. Where are you going? To the kitchen to eat lunch, how about I join you? Don’t you have more things to handle? Yes, they can wait. You’re more important. We took his food back to the kitchen, then we both sat down and had a peaceful lunch and light conversation. He walked around the house and smiled. “You did a wonderful job,” I told him. “ I told you it took a woman’s touch.” I grinned. “Sure, you escaped this time, but you’re going to help fix the garden. Sure, it’s a date,” Zander said with a grin on his face. The rest of the day, I spent fixing the house with the maids. It was the most fun I had in a while. Something that was truly Zander’s and mine. I know this is only temporary, but I’m going to do what Zander said. I’m going to make the most of it. I went out to sit on the patio. There was a nice breeze. I wrapped myself up in the throw blanket, with a book planning to read. Just until Zander was done, I don’t remember falling asleep. I woke up to Zander carrying me upstairs. “ Zander, you can put me down,” he chuckled. “ I didn’t mean to wake you. I just didn’t want you catching a cold.” Smiling, I thanked Zander. “ Why don’t we go out to eat tonight?” Zander asked. “ I know this little hamburger joint that’s close by.” “ Are you sure?” I asked. “I could make us something. No, it’s been a really long day, and you could use the break. Besides, who doesn’t love a good hamburger?” “ Sure, let me go change, what’s the dress code for the restaurant? Zander laughs. Casual. I went up and changed into Levi’s and a sweatshirt and a pair of sneakers. Something casual. When I walked back down the stairs, Zander was in Levi’s and a T-shirt and sneakers. He looked good in anything. “ Was all I could think,”
