PICKING UP THE PIECES

Jessy POV

Knowing that I’m playing with fire I took Anna to Andy’s gym knowing Dominique would be there because of a conversation I overheard. I just can’t do this anymore and I have no idea how he does it. all the way to the gym I tried fighting back the tears and I tried not looking at Anna for I might give something away. when we stopped at the Gym and she saw the two cars the wheels in her head started turning and I got out and opened her door without saying anything.

I watched her walk off and when she recognized the car I saw her whole body change, she walked up to the door like a zombie. I waited in anticipation not knowing what will happen when she comes out, will she be screaming or will she just walk away not even looking at me?

As I stood in the rain my tears ran down my face and my heart is broken for me and for her, because Anna is too good and she never deserved this.

About ten minutes later I looked up into Anna’s pale face and wobbly posture. Afraid she might fall I took a step closer when I saw Andy coming out, “Anna please let me explain.” He said and what she said broke my heart. I have never in my life seen her in this kind of state “you don’t have to because nothing you say can fix what broke inside me.” she said and walked away from him.

Andy looked at me and I saw anger and betrayal written all over his face. I looked back at Anna and she was looking at me with no emotion on her face and she fell into my arms sobbing as hard as she can letting out all the pain that she was hiding.

I tried calming her down whispering sweet nothings to her about how she will be okay and that the hurt will only be temporary.

“how could I not have known?” she cried into my shoulder.

“you did Anna, you were just ignoring it because you love him.” I said and she lifted her head.

“you knew?” she asked and here it comes. She is ganna walk away and never speak to me again.

“yes, that is what Andy and I was fighting about. because I refused to keep this a secret after I caught them making out on the couch.” I said trying to be brave.

“why didn’t you tell me sooner?” she asked through sobs and hiccups.

“because I don’t want to lose my friend.” I said honestly looking at her. she did something I never expected and threw her arms around me once more hugging me. “you told me Jess and you will never lose me.” she said still sobbing.

By the time we made it to her house Anna fell asleep due to exhaustion. I woke her up and when she opened her eyes the tears started falling again.

I got out and walked over to her side opening the door. I helped her out of the car and her mother opened the door.

She gasped and ran over to us. “what happened?” she asked looking at us.

I gave her a sad smile and Anna said, “I caught him cheating mom.” And she fell into her mother’s arms sobbing again.

Anna’s mother looked at me and said, “let’s get out of the rain and we can talk.” She turned around and walked off holding Anna to her.

I followed behind them and once inside i shivered. I didn’t even know I was cold.

“go have a warm bath, the both of you and come down.” she said ushering us towards Anna’s room.

“how could he do this to me?” Anna asked once we were in her room. Her eyes are puffy and red from all the crying and she has no colour in her face.

“come let’s get you warm.” I said leading her to the bathroom.

After our shower we went down stair where her mother had hot chocolate ready for us. Anna still had tears in her eyes and she didn’t say a word so I explained everything to her mother and when I was done Anna said, “what did I do wrong?” she asked looking at her mother.

Her mother moved to her side and hugged her close. “you did nothing wrong baby, it’s him that did something wrong and now you are paying the price.” Her mother gave me a sad smile and said, “you can stay over if you want to.” I smiled at her and said thank you because I don’t feel like going home and I told my parents I might sleep over.

Anna POV

I couldn’t sleep at all last night. My eyes are sore from all the crying and now I have school. I laid in bed the whole night thinking about what I saw and now I feel like getting back at him to pick up my missing pieces.

I looked over at Jessy’s sleeping form and thought about what she said, “I didn’t want to lose you Anna.” She is my best friend and I love her more for telling me the truth where Andy kept lying to me.

I got out of bed and decided I will not play the broken doll and let him get away with feeling like he won. If he wants Dominique he can have her because I have something better.

I just have to decide what guy I want.

Damien. Andy hates Damien so it would be perfect. He is young enough he can pass as a senior student. Now I just have to figure out how to get in touch with him.

I jumped out of bed and tried to think and then I had it.

I walked out of my room and downstairs out of the house. it’s still early o I have time. I know he isn’t far so I stood next to my car and said, “I need to talk to you.” I waited for a few minutes. “what about?” came his voice from behind me making me jump.

When I turned to look at him, his gaze was soft and he held anger.

“how do you feel about being a senior for a few days?” I asked biting my bottom lip.

He c****d and eyebrow at me and said, “for getting back at that s***bag for hurting you I will do anything.

I looked at him surprised even though I shouldn’t be and knowing I don’t have any tears left to cry I smile.

“meet me back here in a hour you can ride to school with us.” I said and saw him shaking his head. “how about I pick you up and you can borrow your car to your friend?” he said and smiled at me.

I narrowed my eyes and said, “okay.”

I left to back inside and I thought about what I will be wearing. When I walked into the room Jessy was still sleeping so I took a shower and I have my mind set on what to wear.

I did my make-up and today I put on extra making smoky eyes. When I was done I barley recognized myself, I’ve never done this before and seeing how hot I look I might just do this every day.

I went into my closet and took out a leather miniskirt with knee length black boots a black crop top with “I’m not yours” written in gold on the front and my white leather jacket.

When I put the jacket on I thought of my father because it was the last thing he got me before he died.

I did my hair up into a wild ponytail letting a few loose strands fall against my face and neck.

When I walked out of my closet Jessy stared at me open mouthed and I just smirked.

I did a slow turn and asked, “how do I look?”

“like a badass B***h who god s*****d over.” She said and a smile grew on her face.

“this is only the first step. Damien will be officially enrolling as a senior today.” I said and saw her eyes widen.

“what are you doing Anna?” Jessy asked and crossed her arms.

“picking up the pieces.” I said and handed her my car keys. “you can take my car I’m riding with Damien.” I said and just then I heard a knock on the door.

I kissed Jessy’s cheek and left my room walking down the stairs.

When my mother saw me her eyes nearly popped out and her mouth fell open.

When Damien saw me he whistled and I saw his eyes darken. I’m pretty sure mine did too because he looked completely different. He is shaved clean and his hair is done into messy spikes. And he is wearing blue ripped jeans with a grey shirt showing off his muscles that are way bigger than Andy’s and almost as bigger than Brody’s. I licked my lips staring at his, and for the first time I wondered how good of a kisser he is.

“ready to go?” Damien asked staring at me. I nodded my head and said, “mom Jessy is taking my car.” And I said goodbye and left.

When I stepped outside my mouth fell open, instead of staring at a car I was staring at a electric blue and orange super bike. I looked at Damien and he smirked at me which made me smile in return.

He handed me a helmet and helped me put it on and then he put on his leather jacket and I had to look away. I’m pretty sure I’m soaked.

He got on and patted the seat behind him and said, “wanna stand there all day?”

I got onto the bike and moved against him putting my hands around his waist. “hold on tight he said.” and the bike started up roaring to life. I smiled beneath the helmet and I could see the looks I will receive at school.

We turned into the school and as I expected everyone stopped what they were doing and stared. I even saw Andy standing next to his car with a scowl on his face.

I smirked beneath the helmet and Damien parked right next to Andy’s car.

I got off the bike and waited for Damien to take the helmet off. When he removed his helmet I saw a lot of girls staring with lust in their eyes.

Damien smiled at me and removed my helmet. I shook my head so my hair can move back into place and looked over at Andy Smirking.

When I saw his shocked expression I said, “thought I’d be lying in bed crying forever?” I saw his expression darken as he look from me to Damien and he said, “from all the guy’s you want him?” I looked at him and said, “at least I didn’t catch him about to f**k a slut while having a girlfriend.” I saw how his face fell and Damien put his arm around my shoulder and we walked into school. “what happened to you?” Andy asked from behind me. I turned around and said, “this is how it looks when I pick up my broken pieces and this time you broke me, so you should be proud because you were the first to break my heart.” I said and walked away with Damien beside me. he looked down at me and asked, “you okay?” I took a deep breath and nodded my head.

My smile widened when I saw Brody waiting by the door with a goofy grin on his face.

He whistled and said, “you look hot.”

I blushed and hid my face. I introduced the boys and we all waited for Jessy. Brody kept throwing glances my way and I didn’t miss the way he licked his lips a few times.

All the while Andy is staring daggers at me and Dominique well I don’t even care what she does anymore even if that is sneering at me.
