They came out of nowhere and before we could react we were all lying motionless on the ground being pinned down by an invisible force.
“well, well, well. What do we have here?” someone asked and the coldness of the voice sent shivers down my spine. If I could move I would shiver.
“where were you headed?” the same voice asked followed by a dark chuckle as he spoke in past tense.
“let us go Alberich.” James said and my eyes widened.
“tsst, tsst, tsst. You know I can’t do that. Besides I was going to take you from that house you call home, but you have made it so easy for me. all I had to do was wait for everything to play out.” Alberich said and as I lay facing the ground I could tell he is smirking.
“you knew I would go for the key?” James said and realization sunk in
