Jason was a biologist working at the University of Texas research center in El Paso, he lived with his wife and only son. When the plague began, the university canceled classes and sent everyone home, including Jason. He stayed with his family for the first few days, until word spread that New York had fallen. Panic spread and looting and robberies quickly began. The army then became heavy, at the same time as the abuses on their parts began. It was a bloody war zone he describes. In the end, their house was invaded and they were forced to move, they were planning to take refuge in the University when the infected blocked their way, followed them to the Centro Comercia Soledad, wherewith others they barricaded themselves, organized, and survived.
