Then the Lord said to Cain, "Where is Abel your brother?" He said, "I do not know; am I my brother's keeper?"Genesis 4:9 ESV Abel was diligently getting the crop he had carefully planted to offer the Lord. He could still remember how his father Adam's eyes lit up whenever he would prepare an offering for the Father. He would definitely enjoy the offering he have set up for the Lord our Father. "Can you not get any faster?" He heard his brother Cain looking back at him and he already has a scowl on his dirty face. "I will be right there, have some patience brother, this is for the Lord." And he hurried up getting the fruits and vegetables for the offering. As they have reached the mountain to where they will prepare the offering a fire consumed Abel's offering but Cain was not and they wondered how come it was not accepted? So they went down the mountain and Abel was the one who was getting ahead and his brother having a dark look on his face follow Abel. "I don't understand why God the Father have not looked upon your offering brother, do you think it could probably be how you have taken care of those sheeps?" Cain with a scowl on his face answers his brother. " Why does this bother you, it is of no concern to you?" "But Cain, don't say that of course I do care why you look so down after we have presented our offering to the Lord." Abel replied. And with a silent vow. "Oh you will be my offering my dear brother, just wait and see." Not thinking anyone heard him but his father have and wondered what could he possibly have meant by that but he knew that it was not good and he dread what it means. So Cain invited Abel to bein the fields, so he did. As Abel was sitting around, Cain out of nowhere struck his brother with a stone on his head and there he bled. Thinking that no one saw him he just left Abel there to rot but his father saw and could not believe his eyes and God's words rang to his ears as he watch Cain walk away "if you eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, you will surely die". And he have surely died as he looked upon his son's bleeding form wondering what he have truly done.  Adam was now looking at his hands again, seeing it in a different light, he could no longer see through him he was clothed with skin but yet he mourns for the death of his son Abel, he mourns for the lost of his son Cain and now he understands what the tree of knowledge truly was. A fruit to have your own will and he looked at his wife mourning for the future deaths that would soon take place.
