  Mal Wear had not always been the best soldier of the empire despite his good intentions. Like every other human being, he had taken the occasional short cut, beaten the occasional prisoner, or stolen supplies against regulations while in an active field of combat. If he was still an imperial captain now, he would have most likely, (as most captains would in that same position) Simply kept attacking and let all the Bandits die.
