Chapter 31. While Waiting For Winter To End

  Winter did not come early and it did not come hard. It was a late and mild winter with an early spring melt. But the rebels had still done the right thing securing the caves as a shelter because there was no way of knowing that the winter would have been so light. Normally the winter was much more cruel and far harsher.   Over the winter friendships and loves solidified in the cave lockdown. Apart from a few skirmishes that had no casualties with the goblins below and the rebels in the upper caves, the two camps had, mostly, left each other alone. With there being no ‘prey creature’ out there, the rebels could safely fetch outdoor water, scavenge and gather. There had been no reason for the two camps to ever overlap.
