|Cassian's POV| "I am so f*****g jealous that you get to cruise across Italian waters and I am stuck here with work." My best friend's voice came through the phone as I stepped out of my G-Wagon. I was currently at the hangar with my private jet waiting in front of me as I gave a curt nod to the staff waiting for me to board. "Luke, you know what they say? You can't pay well if you don't play well." I told him with a smirk on my lips as I climbed up the stairs. He scoffed on the other side of the call, "literally nobody says that, Cas." He told me. I flopped down on one of the comfortable cream leather seats as I looked around the interiors of my jet. With walnut and cream accents, this seating space was accommodated with four passenger seats and a long sofa along with a coffee table. The other half of the jet occupied two separate bedrooms, a private kitchen, and attached washrooms, and another seating area which was used by the men who travelled with me. One of the hostesses' brought me a glass of bourbon while my pilot came to step in the doorway between the seating space and the cockpit. "Are you ready, Mr. Evans?" He asked with a warm smile on my lips. I nodded, "take us to the skies, Gerard." He nodded and I buckled myself in as the staff too took their respective places. That was when Luke's voice rang through the phone again, "by the way, did you hear about what happened to the Princetons?" He asked. I had an iPad opened in my lap, and the news article that I had been reading read the headline— Oil Royals Found Dead: Accident or an Inside Job?Camilla and Marshall Princeton were the rulers of the most influential, powerful, energy dynasty of the world, which was the Princeton Unlimited. A week ago, their plane was crashed somewhere in the Alaskan mountain ranges with speculations of a faulty fuel leak as a major cause. The crash ended in killing both of them, while Marshall's younger brother Aldrich has come onto the front as the patriarch of the family in these tough times. "Yeah, tragic what happened to them." I murmured into the phone, my eyes still scouring the article to help me find anything of suspicion. "They had a daughter too, didn't they?" Luke pondered just as I swiped onto the next article and it was a picture of the very same Princeton Heiress on the cover. "What was her name...Il...?" "Ilaria Princeton." I muttered, staring at the woman whose name I would remember in my sleep. "Yeah, man, lord knows what became of her. As active as she always was, she has seemed to have disappeared off the face of earth completely since news broke out." My best friend's voice was almost flooded with mild concern, which to be honest was refreshing to listen to considering the fact that he hardly ever cared about anyone aside from a few selected people. I wish I could tell him that I wanted to find out where she was just as much as the crazy throngs of paparazzi outside the Princeton manor in Upstate New York. However, I listened to him rant about all the possible probabilities about the Princeton case and once I believed that he was done, I said, "well, as much as I would love to listen to more conspiracy theories about how you believe that the relatives killed the Princetons, we have more pressing matters at hand right now." I reminded him. He seemed to remember why we were on this call right now, "oh, yes, the shipment." I nodded my head even though he could not see it, "don't worry, Boss, the shipment will be in tonight and the Irish will be none the wiser. You can focus on closing that deal today, I'll take care of everything here." "Alright, I'll see you the day after. Make me happy." I muttered before ending the call just as I felt a shadow looming over me.I detached my gaze from the iPad still showcasing some news article about the Princeton power couple and found the slaty eyes of one of my most trusted men staring down at me. "Anything?" I questioned, my tone which had been filled with affection and emotion until two seconds ago was now leeched of it all as I stared at Rafael with a questioning glare. He gave me an apologetic glance with his lips pursed, "the closest we could get was finding an empty condo under Aldrich's daughter Stephanie's name in midtown. There was no sign of Ilaria." His words made the vein in my temple throb as I leaned back in my chair before swiping out my glock from the holster wrapped around my right thigh and turned the safety off before casually resting in against my thigh. My eyes glared at him heatedly until I watched him squirm under my gaze before he lowered his head. "Is there an explanation behind why not a single one of you incompetent fools has been able to find one simple girl?" I questioned, "how difficult is it to find a broken doll who has just lost her parents and has no one to call her own?" I spat, my anger making me want to kill someone. "We are trying, Boss, she has seemed to have disappeared. Her relatives are still in New York but there is no trace of Ilaria on the entire continent." He explained to me, his eyes boring into mine to show me that he was telling me everything he knew. "WELL THEN EXPAND YOUR SEARCH RADIUS, GODDAMNIT!" I screamed, my hand raising in the air before I smashed the butt of the gun down on the glass topped table in front of me. A large c***k appeared in the glass as well as the wood underneath, but I couldn't care less. I took in a deep breath and met Rafael's gaze once again, "find me Ilaria Princeton, even if you have to scour the entire f*****g planet to do so!" He immediately nodded, and was gone as silently as he had appeared.
