Chapter 4: Pitiful

1067 Words
Brielle’s POV I looked at the school gate once again, contemplating on entering the school or going back and having detention later, I sighed and thought about how horrible yesterday was, I was in a state of shock throughout and I could barely listen to what the teachers were saying in class Not Alice, of all people! I know we just knew each other about a week ago, but I thought I found something genuine in her, and I was glad I was finally making friends after spending most of my life isolated. I stepped inside the school compound, biting my lips, all eyes were on me and I knew I was going to be the talk of the school until something else happened and everyone’s attention drift from me. My father has always told me how communication works and even though I am going to stop being Alice’s friend I need to talk to her and ask her why she will do something as such, we have always talked about Hayley and laughed at how crazy her group is, but she went ahead to side with them I stepped my legs in the hall and everyone turned their attention on me, their voices whispering words to each other. “Slut!” “Green snake” “w***e!” I felt papers hit me from all sides and angles, but I ignored them and headed to my locker, I opened my locker and saw a lot of dirty papers which all fell down, and I had to move quickly away while the word slut was boldly written in my locker. I sighed and thought about how I was going to clean it later, but for now, I needed to talk to Alice, I saw Alice walking towards her locker, and luckily, she wasn’t with Hayley and her minions. I closed my locker back and walked over to meet Alice, “hey!” I said, and she ignored me, trying to pick a book from her locker. “Can we talk?” I asked, and she banged her locker, the sound echoed across the hall and every student turned their attention to us, some were with their phones ready to cover what was going on. “What! What do you want to talk about?” she asked angrily, and I was shocked by the way her eyes were on me, I have never seen so much hatred from her before. “You can talk, I am listening,” she said, wrapping her hands across her chest “I will prefer to talk to you in a private Alice,” I said, and I saw her look around, she sees the number of students waiting for us to probably start fighting She groans and started walking out of the hall, I followed her immediately. I heard the students whining because they couldn’t get what they wanted. She halted her steps and turned to look at me. “Be fast, I have a homeroom to go to” she said hurriedly, and I sighed, licking my lips “Why did you do it, Alice, I tried wrapping my head around it, but I couldn’t. I know we haven’t known each other for long, but you were a friend to me. I have never had a friend in my life before, and I was glad when you approached me and I finally thought this it” I said and Alice laughed at how stupid I must look “You thought wrong Brielle and you should get over it already, I am now part of the Pixies and you know how hard it is to get into that group. They only choose the best of the best to be part of them” she replied with dreamy eyes. “What did I do to deserve this?” I asked with tears clouding my eyes. “The Torres brothers. They have an interest in you, and you are lying not to care about them. I saw how Liam affected you when he came closer to you, and you can’t deny it. Hayley offered me the chance to be part of them if I can do something that will get to you” Alice said and I chuckled. “And out of everything you need to do to be part of that same group we joked about is to share the video of me in pants and bra?” I asked it sounds so ridiculous to me, and it’s disheartening how much we think we know people but in the end, they are nothing but a bunch of liars. “Yes, that’s what I could use to get to you, and it worked perfectly, stop being pathetic Brielle, you look pitiful,” Alice said and walked away from me with my eyes on her while she sashayed her body. I saw Hayley smirking at me, she must have listened to our conversation, and I hate the fact I might have come out desperate in front of them. I have no interest in the boys, and I don’t think I will ever do. I can’t deny the fact I felt a sudden pool towards Liam, he is the only one I have talked to among the three, but that doesn’t mean I will work on it and become someone who is desperate for man’s attention. I walked back to the hall and bend down to clean my locker while a tear escaped my eyes, I sniffed trying to control it, but I couldn’t another tear fell again and I held my locker tightly as I cried my eyes out. The students around me were busy laughing at me and recorded a video of me, I didn’t care about all that. I just wanted to get everything done and go to my class. I wiped my tears with the back of my hand and looked at my locker, it was all clean again, and I smiled sadly, I turned about to head to my first class of the day when I saw the Torres brothers, they didn’t see me, I was the only one who saw them and I fisted my hand into a ball as I thought about how I am going to avoid them for as long as I can, they have done nothing but caused me distress since they stepped into the school.
