Chapter 11: On Board

Owen’s POV

The thought of my brothers trying to trust this human girl without safety measures is annoying, no one is worthy of trust, and we have learned it the hard way.

It’s annoying how they just discovered they have a mate and suddenly that mate is trustworthy. I left the room angrily as I thought about everything we had been through.

We have hidden from people and tried so much not to hurt anyone, even with the power we possessed, blaze crown community has also tried their best to tame the rogues but for some reason, a group of humans that call themselves hunters have decided to extinguish our existence.

They started attacking Vampires at first, we saw it as retaliation because the vampires attack them and suck their blood for their satisfaction, which is their way to survive, but some years back, the chief hunter decided to hunt down any supernatural being that existed mainly targeting on werewolves, and we can’t sit back and let them do whatever they want to us.

I walked along the quiet road, the estate we live in is quiet, I walked slowly without coming across anyone while my mind was occupied with what I was going to do.

I love the air softly blowing my air and the whooshing sound singing in my ears, my step suddenly slowed when I saw a lady standing in the middle of the road, she yawned and looked up at the sky before walking down the road, I followed her and I saw her open a gate and went inside the compound

I recognized the scent immediately, and it belonged to Brielle, I smirked happy I got to know where she lives, and it’s funny how she lives just a few blocks away from ours, I saw a room suddenly lit up and I climbed the fence.

I moved closer to her window and I saw her inside, she pulled out her phone and played some music, and started dancing, I almost chuckled, but I stopped wondering who danced in the middle of the night alone.

I watched her dance for a while and finally slumped laying on her bed, she sat up again and pulled out a drawing board from underneath her bed, she took some crayons and started coloring the drawing board

I knew immediately she was having difficulty sleeping, she continues shading and finally, I was able to notice her features.

I walked away from the principal's office after she was assigned to tutor us, she looks all innocent now, but I am uncertain if she is trusty worthy yet, I had my doubts about not giving it a try before, but now I will, I am going to give it a try.

Finn and Liam’s mate looks interesting, and I hope she will be able to lead us to the daughter of the hunter we are looking for.

I suddenly heard a loud yawn and the crayon she was holding fell from her hand, she slumped on the bed and I chuckled, I covered my mouth with my eyes wide open shocked about how she almost caught me in her window

It won’t be funny if she sees me stalking her, and it will definitely make it more difficult for us to brains wash her to help us, it’s all better now no one knows we are not humans.

I climbed down the fencing and started walking back home, I was the only one walking down the street, like a predator waiting for its prey.

My phone suddenly blinked and pulled it out of my pocket, and I was shocked to see it was past three at night, I had spent hours watching Brielle without realizing it.

Now I understand why Liam and Finn find her intriguing and they want to go closer to her. I halted my steps in front of the door and knocked, Liam opened the door, and he was shocked I was just coming back home considering I am an introvert.

“Wow! What have you been doing outside? We ate and gave up waiting for you” Liam said and yawned at the same time Finn joined us. I closed the door behind me and looked between my brothers.

“We are doing it,” I said, and they furrowed their brows confused

“Doing what?” they asked simultaneously

“We are going to befriend Brielle, we will try to get closer to her and do whatever we can to find the hunter’s daughter,” I said and they smiled broadly

“It’s nice to have you on board Owen,” Liam said, hugging me while Finn chuckled

“Well I thought about going back home with nothing, and it doesn’t make sense, we have come a long way to get to this point, and we can’t give up now. We can’t fail our community, they all have hope in us” I said, and I saw Liam and Finn's eyes get emotional, and they gently place their hands on my shoulder.

“Yes we can’t, and we must do whatever it takes to assure that,” Finn said, and I smiled before stepping away from them.

“We will start by knowing what she has an interest and well we are getting tutored in math, so ready your dull brains,” I said and Finn burst into laughter because it’s only Liam that’s poor in math between us

“I passed with a C the last time, I am not that bad,” Liam said, and we burst into laughter.

“I didn’t mention your name,” I said tauntingly walking to my room and I heard him hiss.

I chuckled without glancing back because I knew his eyes will probably be burning with fury, I heard Finn say some words and Liam retaliated, they started showing their goofy side again and all I could do is to smile

They always argue and hardly agree on this, but I wouldn’t have it the other way around, they are the best people in my life.

I laid on my bed trying to get some sleep before the day breaks, knowing fully operation befriend Brielle is very well starting when the day breaks.
