Chapter 9: Hey, Tutor!

Brielle’s POV

I sighed deeply as I stood in front of the school’s gate. I only hope no one finds out what I tried to do and make it the new topic in the school, I sighed again and walked inside the school building.

Everyone students were busy, some picking books from their lockers, some chatting with their friends, and I hoped I don’t get to see Hayley and Alice before I went to class.

Some still have time from their busy schedules to snicker and talk about me, I rolled my eyes, ignoring them, and went to my locker to grab my book. I saw a few nasty papers in my lockers, and it wasn’t as painful as the first time.

I picked them up, and I suddenly saw someone standing before me, I turned my gaze to see Laura, and she helped me pick up the rest of the papers, we threw them away in the nearby trash can and I turned my attention to her.

“Thank you,” I said, meaning every word that came out of my mouth, she had a toothy grin on her face as her eyes swept all over my body.

“How are you feeling now?” she asked and I nodded

“I… I am fine” I replied, and she nodded her head, “I apologize for the way I talked to you yesterday, I wasn’t in a great mood” I apologized and she chuckled

“It doesn’t matter, I didn’t take it to heart. I knew you were not in great shape, so I hope you are all fine now” she said, and I nodded with a smile

“Yeah I am, I will be running to class now,” I said, and she took a step away from me

“You don’t mind if I join you for lunch later?” she asked and was skeptical, why will she want to have lunch with me? What is she trying to get at?

“Why? I doubt that is necessary” I replied and she chuckled.

“I mean no harm, I just want to be your friend,” she said, and I smiled awry at her

“I am not sure if I am in the right state to make more friends right now. I will see you around” I said and opened her mouth to argue, but no words came out of her mouth. “are you not scared of Hayley and her group seeing us together?” I asked.

“No” she replied

“Well I care, bye,” I said and closed my locker, walking away from her, not after Alice has betrayed me blindly will I just allow another person into my life.

The first class was so boring, and I was tired, j wanted to go home already and lay on my bed hugging my pillows, I was walking towards my locker to get a new note for my next class when I suddenly heard the principal’s voice

“Liam, Finn, Owen Torres, and Brielle Sanders, report to my office right now. Failure to report to the principal's office will warrant extreme measures.” She said, and I groaned, wondering why she wanted to see me.

I had no choice but to turn back and head to her office, I knocked on the door and I heard her faint come in.

I opened the door and went inside her office, I saw the Torres triplets standing before her too, she landed on her gaze me and smiled

“Come forward Brielle,” Mrs AJ said, and I moved closer to them.

“I am here ma’am,” I said, and my eyes darted across the triplets standing before me and I turned my attention back on her.

"Well, I checked your previous records from your old schools. I couldn't tell why you were expelled, but you certainly were a genius- that's very recommendable… "

"T- thank you, Mrs. AJ, but I don't…."

"Now we have a foreign exchange program presently by which the Minister of Education will let us exchange students from another high school abroad, and he will check the academic records of each student being transferred and know If the high school affected him/her for the better or worse… " Mrs. AJ said, and I don’t know where she is getting at

"Yes, I know that… " I interjected

"Well, You should know the Torres Triplets then because they're in your class. I want you to tutor them.” She said, and my gaze hastily landed on the Torres Triplets

It was like her words were like a slap across my face.

"W- what!?" I asked confused, how can she make me tutor the same students that were the reason behind my bullying?

“The only person good at math we had in school has been transferred for the foreign exchange, so I don’t have any other choice but to appoint you Miss Sanders,” the principal said with pleading eyes and the boy's eyes were me too.

I was speechless, and I didn’t know what to say, I definitely couldn’t turn the principal down with her pleasing eyes, I swallowed the growing lumps in my throat and turned my gaze on her “Okay, I will do that ma’am” I replied, and her face broke into a smile

“That is wonderful! You will tutor them in math and also, you can speak with them and schedule the appropriate time you can host them” she said and returned her gaze to the triplet.

“Hope that is okay with you boys?” she asked them, and they nodded their head

“Yes ma’am” they replied simultaneously and we left her office.

I closed the door before me and I turned to look at the triplet, my heart skipped a beat as their eyes trailed on me and I didn’t know what to do.

I definitely don’t want to get involved with them, and it seems the more I try to stay away from the more I find myself getting closer to them.

I definitely don’t want to imagine the dramas that will unfold when Hayley and her group see me hanging around them, my heart sank ex when I saw Liam smiling brightly at me.
