Chapter 15: Dear Diary

Owen’s POV

“What did you say?” I asked, dropping the book I was holding.

Liam came back to the house and started blabbering some words I didn’t pay attention to until I heard the hunter’s daughter

“I said I helped Brielle in the lab today, and she told me she is from Blaze Crown City, I was shocked. She is living with her uncle here in Greenville City, so I thought about it, she is the hunter’s daughter we are looking for but the device hasn’t worked on her to show she is a hunter” Liam said, and I sighed while Finn was quiet trying to process what Liam said.

I was the one who brought the idea of using the device on her because I didn’t trust her and well it didn’t work on her, showing she is just a regular human.

“I hardly believe Brielle is the daughter of that man, she doesn’t have any similarity with him,” Finn said, and I scoffed moving closer to them,

“This is not about what you think is right or not, we need to be sure of who we are dealing with. You should remember the mission comes first before any mate” I said, and their eyes were on me.

“What are we going to do?” Liam asked and I smirked.

“Leave it to me, I know what I am going to do,” I said and turned to walk out of the room, but Finn held my hand and halted my steps

“What are you going to do?” he asked, and I licked my lips

“Trust me, brother, I won’t hurt your mate. Yet” I said and let go of my hand.

It was the middle of the night again, and I stepped out of the house, I walked down the narrow path that lead to Brielle’s house, I climbed the walls, and looked through her window, she was fast asleep.

I slowly opened the door and I went inside her room, I saw her adjust herself on her bed and I stopped walking, she had the light on, and I wondered why she sleeps with the light on.

I pulled her drawer out hoping I could find anything that can help me, but I found nothing. I sighed and continued looking through her room for anything that might give me a clue she was the hunter’s daughter.

I suddenly heard her yawn and I lay on the floor immediately, I saw her standing up, and I crawl to hide underneath the bed, I watched her from under the bed as she sluggishly walked to the bathroom. She closed the door behind her and I didn’t move.

I heard her flush the toilet, and she came back outside right after, she lay back on her bed again, and I was still until I was sure she was fast asleep.

When I noticed she was already asleep, I gently crawl out again and start searching her room, I suddenly saw a photo book and a diary, I was flipping through the diary when I heard her light snore, I stopped for a while to admire her and I suddenly reminded myself the reason I was here in the first place, I took the diary and opened some pages.

Dear Diary,

I want to tell you how tired I am. I am changing schedules again because of my dad, he is scared I will be attacked by supernatural beings.

I read quietly, and I became more interested in her, I opened the photo book immediately, and I saw several photos of her as a kid, I suddenly found one, and I was shocked. I had hoped she wasn’t the hunter’s daughter for the sake of my brothers, who will not just be hurt but devastated when they found out.

Beside her was the man we all hated in Silent Howl Pack, the man who had made it his life mission to eradicate the existence of werewolves, I pulled the photo out and placed her photo book and diary back at the place I took it from.

I tiptoed out of her room and I made sure to close her window back as I went back to my house to meet my brothers. I first my hand into a ball and I couldn’t believe the first person we decided to trust was the one we were looking for.

I know my brothers will be shocked to find out Brielle is the daughter of the hunter, and it’s more annoying, she turns out to be their mate. I stepped inside the house and I saw them sitting down on the sofas in the living room,

“You are back!” Finn said when he saw me and Liam dropped the game control, he was holding.

“What did you find? Did you find anything?” he asked while they moved closer to me, they looked like they hoped she wasn’t the person we thought she was and I’m so sorry to burst their bubbles.

I handed the picture over to them, and they took it out of my hand with curiosity, I saw their eyes widen with shock when they saw her standing with that hunter in a father-daughter way, she had a huge smile on her face and it’s so annoying how the hunter had a smile on his face too.

I wondered how he could be so happy after killing people and destroying lives that affect their loved ones.

“Wait… don’t tell me…” Liam trailed on his words as he looks shocked, his eyes darted between me and Finn who was quiet and held the picture tightly, he turned his gaze to loll at me too.

“Yes our thought was correct, she is the hunter’s daughter we have all been looking for,” I said, and they were quiet, everyone completely lost in their worlds

“So, what are we going to do now?” Finn asked, and I felt pity towards them because we are about to take a drastic decision that will also affect them since they are mates.

“We should call the council”
