Dad was discharged and I went back to school, making sure I didn't say anything about Rodney to mom or dad when I called them. Mom asked how he was doing a few times and I said he was okay, just doing what he needed to do. He called when he left town as he had said he would.
We got talking about dad and he made it sound natural that we were having the conversation. He was happy to be talking with me and he said it repeatedly for as long as he was on the call with me.
