Just as Kane passed him, Michael pulled the wooden stake he’d brought with him out of his coat and drove it into Kane’s back. Kane roared out in pain and anger, stumbling forward while trying to simultaneously remove the offending piece of wood from his body. Michael snarled in response and rode him down, until he had Kane face down on the floor. “I never took you for a back stabber,” Kane mocked, not bothering to fight him. “A little to the right please, you missed.” “Shut up,” Michael growled, as he jerked the stake out and shoved the earring inside the hole torn in Kane’s back.
