Sarah shut the door to her hotel room, dropped her pack by the dresser, and plopped down on her bed. For two whole days she’d be stuck here wondering and worrying about Frank’s whereabouts. This was impossible, but what could she do? She kept seeing him in her mind’s eye lying in the snow, his body curled up like those who’d fallen on Everest. Where was he? If God had taken him, it would mean she’d lost the one man who’d finally seen her hopes and dreams after so many years: the one man who’d restored her belief that she could love a man with all her heart again.
