CHAPTER SEVEN

    It was finally the end of the day and I must say, it was agonizing. Derik and the rest of my friends noticed that something was wrong with me, although I denied it and blamed it on stress. I left my friends inside and skipped extra class with the excuse of having to prepare for today's dinner.

    As I made my way out, I called Dave and he was able to detect something was wrong with me from my voice. He asked me to stop by the restaurant to explain everything to him since I never hide things from him. As I made my way to my car, I noticed the Wolf gang was there. I kept on talking to Dave as I got close to my car.

    "Dave, can you please hold on?" I said

    "Sure", Dave said and paused.

    I looked at the gang and said, "please excuse me, I have a place to be right now."

    "Ariana, please look at me", Ethan pleads with pain in his voice

    "I'm sorry, I'm really in a hurry", I said as I tried to sidestep them. Catherine held my hand and made me look at her.

    "Can we just go to a restaurant and discuss this?", I could hear the desperation in her voice

    "I can't. I have to meet up with Dave at Wolf Bite", I again tried to get into my car.

    "Please" this time it was Bella who asked.

    "I really have to meet up with Dave. Also if the dinner plan is cancelled, please inform me before 7 so that I can tell my parents." I still couldn't make eye contact with any one of them especially Ethan.

    "The plan isn't cancelled", Demitrey suddenly said, startling me. I hummed and tried to get into my car again.

    "Can we please come with you to Wolf Bite?" Benny said. Hearing his voice calmed me in a brotherly manner so I agreed. Ethan tried to lead me to his car but I simply got into mine and drove away with them following.

    "Mia Regina", Dave said pulling me into a hug as we entered the restaurant. I felt a tear or two slip from my face as I hugged him back. He saw the gang behind me and gave me a questioning look but I just shrugged. He then took us to a private booth.

    "Do you want to talk about it in front of them?" Dave whispered.

    "We can just speak Italian" I responded catching the look on the gang's face knowing they heard what we said. Dave hummed and said, "quindi cosa c'e che non va?" ( so what's wrong?)

    I sighed and looked at the gang noticing the looks they were giving me, "ho sbagliato. Ho ammessodi apprezare Ethan ancle se mi place di piu Demitrey. E dopo o averlo ammesso, guardarono tutti Demitrey con paura negli occhi, special mente Ethan. E mi ha fatto sentre come se avessi delto o fatto qualcosa di sbagliato. (I've messed up. I admitted to liking Ethan although I like Demitrey more. And after admitting it, they all looked at Demitrey with fear in their eyes especially Ethan and it made me feel like I've said or done something wrong).

    Dave kept on listening to me without interrupting. "Ti stanno nascondend o qualcosa. E prima che tu mi chieda di dirtelo, non spetta a me dirlo. Demitrey ti dira quando auremo abbastanza privacy. Per ora, prova a parlare con lono." ( they are hiding something from you. And before you ask me to tell you, it's not my place to say. Demitrey will tell you when it's time, We'll discuss this later when we have enough privacy. As for now, try to talk things out with them).

    "Okay", I said, " Thanks, Dave. I love you"

    "You are welcome mia, Regina. Ciao" he said as he planted a kiss on my forehead and left.

    "Ciao", I said after him.

    The moment Dave left, I felt a hand on my hand. When I looked up, I was met with the faces of the gan. They all looked desperate to talk to me.

    "Please Ariana, talk to me" Ethan begged. I looked at him and teased, "Woah drama queen, are you about to cry?"

    His face instantly relaxed and melted into his signature grin, "how many times have I told you not to call me that?"

    At our exchange, everyone became relaxed including Demitrey. We all began to converse and I was surprised when even Benny began to speak to me.

    "You know, if we were related, I would have thought you were my brother," I said to Benny in between laughter.

    "I know right. You look like the female version of me", he said with a wink.

    "Uh nuh, you look like the male version of me, not the other way round." I insisted.

    The gang laughed, "And what exactly is the difference?" Demitrey said

    "Well, it's obvious I'm older," I said with certainty

    "Are you sure?" Erik asked 

    "100%" I responded with cookies in my mouth

    "When is your birthday then?" Benny asked 

    "July 20" I replied

    "me too" Benny all but yelled in joy.

    "We are partially twins", I exclaimed with a smile.

    "But I'm sure I'm older," Benny said

    "Oh Benjamin, keep dreaming" I laughed.

    The gang looked at each other in shock and Benny turned to me and asked," how do you know my full name is Benjamin?"

    "Oh, I guessed? It just felt right", I said confusing myself.

    After that, we all began to talk. Benny and I became close and I began to wish we were actually twins. I saw that the rest of the gang were happy at our closeness even Demitrey. After a while, I left them to get read for the dinner. I told them dinner starts by 7 and they shouldn't be late.
