Our Story: False Hopes

I can't believe that I am sitting in my favorite tea shop with Shin. This is like a beautiful dream for me. All the sadness I felt in the last couple of days vanished. I feel like I am floating. I'm going crazy.

First, we talk about the moment happened in the bookstore which was really awkward. Then he asked me why I didn't join the general rehearsal and it made my heart flutter. I told him the reason and he said that hoping someday I can join them. I am just so happy to know the fact the he knew me. We talked about random things. I felt like we are dating. Then suddenly...

"So the reason why I badly want the book is because, someone special to me like it as well and I promised that I will give it to her as a gift."

Her? Special Someone?

My world crashed. It felt like I was flying high then fall hard on the ground face first. So he has a girlfriend I guess?

"Oh, I see. Well, sure you can have it. She will be happy knowing that you got it for her. Its broken though. You can fix it anyway right?!"

The words came out to my mouth non-stop.

"I can ask someone to fix it for me. Well you know, I'm not really good in crafts and fixing broken things like this."

"Cool, you can have it." I smiled.

"Really?!" He smiled too. The first smile I got from him.

"Yeah, take it."

"I will pay you."

"No please. Just take it. It's partly my fault why its broken too so just take it."

"But I insist."

"No, its okay. You can have it."

"Okay, thank you so much. You are so nice. Sorry for being a jerk earlier."

"No prob."

I drink my tea as fast as I could and told Shin that I have to go ahead.

"I thought you're here to relax."

"Nah, I'm good now and its past eight. I need to go home."

"Okay, let me pay the drinks."

"Oh thanks!" I have no more energy to play tug-o-war. I wanted to go home right away. I wanted to cry.

We walk through the exit door of the mall. He offered to drive me home but I declined. I secretly watch him enter the parking lot til he get in his car. I walk home when he is no longer in my sight.

I feel numb. I feel like I am floating. I can't even remember the taste of the tea I drank. Everything looks like in a fast-forward state. I loose hope.

Morning came, I have no idea what time did I fell asleep. Somehow, I felt happy because I was able to talk with Shin yesterday. That was really unexpected. But, knowing that he has a special someone made me really sad.

I received a message from Jane about our rehearsal this afternoon. I disregard the sadness in my heart, I fixed my bed and went straight to the shower.
