Our Story: Pretentions

Andie 's POV

This is the day. I'm going to see him again. Will he talk to me? Will he remember what happened in the mall? I have so many things in my mind when I heard Jane calling me.

"Are you nervous?" She worriedly asked.

"Oh, ahm, yeah I am. Are you saying something? Sorry."

"Yeah, I asked if you bring an extra shirt. Seems like you are in a deep thought."

"Oh sorry. Yes I have an extra here. Why?"

"Great! After the event, let's ask our mentor if we can go to the park nearby to chill."

"Cool!" I don't feel like going out and hang out with the others but I don't want to kill the vibes that Jane has. After all, she deserve to relax after the rehearsals she lead.

My eyes are all focus on Shin. He is really a great dancer. He has the stage presence and all the girls around me is cheering for him. A superstar indeed.

He together with Jane and the others are currently dancing their part. I am sitting beside the stage together with the others waiting for our turn to join.

The cue!

I almost forgot to stand up and go to the stage because of him. I should focus on our number first. We joined the group. We are now dancing altogether in the stage. It turned a little crowded. I was about to do the step to change position when someone bumped me.

"Sorry" Shin whispered while making a cute sorry-face.

"It's okay." I whispered while smiling to him. He smiled back.

My heart fluttered. He smiled at me!

I felt inspired and I really did my best till our number ends.

Our group is in the dressing room, watching the video of our dance. We are really satisfied with the outcome. Everyone is happy. I look for Jane. Where is she? I asked Bella if she saw her but she didn't notice her as well.

I went out to look for her. Is she in trouble? Did she get sprained ankle? Well, that is possible she did a lot of hard steps and rotations. Where is she?

"Thank you! I will keep it safe. I promise."

That's Jane's voice. I listen carefully and followed where its coming from.

Then right there and then. I saw my best friend with Shin in the corner of the hall.

"Thank you Jane. I hope I didn't bother you."

"Not at all! I am glad you trusted me on this."

The book!

They are talking about the book. Is Jane the "special someone" Shin referring to? He gave her the book!

I was shock. I couldn't move. I need to go back or else they would see me. With all my might I returned in our dressing room. I went straight to the rest room to wash my face. I ignored Bella asking me if I saw Jane already. I can't stop the tears in my eyes.

Hang on! I have to put myself compose. I can't cry here. I fix myself and return to the group. They are still busy with the videos and pictures. I fix my things and told Bella that I will go to our car now.

"Why all of the sudden?" She asked.

"I feel tired. By the way, I didn't saw Jane so I just returned here. I need to pee so I didn't answer you right away. Tell her that I am in the car when she arrived." I lied.

"Okay, I'll go there after I fix my things here."

"Sure."

Heading to our car, I saw Shin's group taking pictures. I ignored them and went straight to our car. My tears are about to fall when I heard his voice.

"Andie!"

I pretend that I didn't her him. I just can't face him yet. I know I have no right to feel this way but, I just can't. Not right now. I feel terrible of myself because I assumed.

I open the door and close it as fast as I could. He can't follow me here. I cried silently. I stayed there and waited for the others for I think about 20 minutes. I pretend that I was sleeping when they all get in the car. They are telling our mentor to go to the park before going home. I will just stay here and keep pretending asleep.

Finally, we arrived in the park. Jane is trying to wake me up but I stayed silent.

"She must be really tired." Bella said. I felt relieve.

"Okay, let's just leave her here. I'll just send her a message to let her know where we would go."

Then they left.
