Our Story: Overcoming Doubts

The next morning, I received a message from Jane. It is about an emergency meeting that we will be having later this afternoon. I got nervous when I read the message. This is something unusual especially that this will he handled by our leaders.

Is there something bad happened?

"I can attend the meeting later. But do you know why this meeting was called?" I curiously asked her.

"I have no idea as well. This was just forwarded to me. Let's go together later."

"Okay."

We're almost complete when Jane and I arrived in the meeting hall. We sit beside Bella who is as curious as we are.

"Thank you for coming in this abrupt meeting. I know some of you are busy with their school stuff and some in their jobs but the very reason why we are all here today is because we decided to celebrate the success of the event that we just had. All the leaders decided to treat every participant to a summer get away for two days and one night all expense paid. We saw how you really exert your effort in rehearsing and preparing for the event and we hope that this small token of appreciation will compensate all your efforts."

Our group cheered loudly hearing the great news. Everyone seems excited and forgot that our leader is still in front.

"Hey you guys, I know you are all excited and a lot of plans are running in your minds now. But do you have questions for me by any chance?" He asked smiling.

Several individuals raise their hands including Jane.

"Yes, Dan?"

"When will it be sir?" Dan asked. We have the same question.

"Well, that will be two weeks from now. So you still have a lot of time to prepare and ask for your parent's permission. Yes, Jane?"

"Is it just for our area or the other locations are included?" Jane asked.

"We decided to unify the treat so basically we will be joined by different area too. This is the best time also to meet different people in your group. We are preparing activities and games. This will be more like a teambuilding."

"Thank you." Jane replied.

"Is there any other questions for me? If none, our meeting is adjourn we will keep you posted for any updates. Thank you guys."

It sounds so fun. We are going to spend our summer out of town but why do I feel a little nervous. There is a chance that Shin will join this activity.

"I am so excited! I can't wait for the day to come!" Jane said.

"Me too! I hope we remain together just like the last camp." Bella replied

"Didn't you hear what our leader said? That will be the best time to know others. So we should join different groups."

"But I want us to remain together. We are solid and that will be fun."

"Let' just see what will happen. Are you excited as well Ands?"

"Oh, yeah. I'm excited. Its a good idea to know others as well. But I'm comfortable with you guys and its really awkward for me to meet different people." I shyly said.

"You'll be fine Andie. We got you!" Said Bella

"Yeah! Take the opportunity to know others and make friends with them as well." Jane winked at me.

"Thank you guys!"

Before we head home, we went to the convenience store nearby and grab some snacks. We also made a plan on what are we going to do for the upcoming teambuilding.

"Mom, our leader called a meeting earlier. He informed us that we will be having a sort of teambuilding for two days and one night. Will you let me join?" I asked mom while we are eating dinner.

"When will it be?"

"Two weeks from now."

"You should join. That seldom happens."

"I'm thinking about you. I'm gonna miss you." I will leave her again.

"Sweetheart, I surived the week without you around when you attended your first camp. Two days and one night won't hurt."

"Aww, thank you mom."

"You are still young. You should enjoy your life. Don't be scared to try and experience new things. Don't worry about me. You always have my back."
